No running game

It's a wasted snap

Actually the plays are fine. Just don't seem that way because we don't have a quarterback that can execute the play calls.

Reread what you posted and tell us how this makes sense to keep calling the same game plan.

Either change the player to meet the plays called or change the plays to meet your players.

This is giving me flashbacks to Les’s stubbornness against change and the god awful offenses we had under him.

Very few quick, high percentage throws.

Do you fricking watch the gsme? 95% of his throws are this. Everyone’s fault but JD. He’s clearly better than he is playing but denbrock is failing him. Hahaha

With the exception of your very first point about substitutions you just described the 2019 offense to a T

Calling a running play with 8/9 in the box on 4 th down- Why did JD not check out of it???? This is basic football.

ULM has a better QB than LSU.

I’m not surprised in the least that you salivate over Mr. Mediocre. He drops more big games and head-scratchers (like 2 in a row to LSU teams with glaring issues) than he wins.

Been watching all the SEC games today... our offensive line has got to be tge worst in the conference! Every team's oline has the ability to pass protect for the QB, plus open holes for the running backs... even cellar dwelling Vandy and South Carolina. Lack of recruiting quality olinemen prior to this season has been a big downfall of LSU football. Stop blaming this year's QB and the coaches so much. Good players make good coaches!

What worries me is that it's a zone read running game and a passing game that requires short accurate throws. It's great for Daniel's if he had an adequate OL, but he needs to work on accuracy. The scary part is they keep saying Walker Howard is the future, but this scheme is not at all suited for his skill set, or for that matter Nuss's. What happens after Daniels.

I thought the third and 1 play to block 8 run two deep (30 yard) cross was a great play. Really kept Tennessee on their toes.

LSU's offense is 2019 could make that work. They didn't need much creativity because they had a QB with pinpoint accuracy who read the D and had them beat before the snap basically. He knew where he was going with the ball and we had three phenomenal WRs and CEH coming out of the backfield who also became a 1st round pick. Also, that O-line won the award for best O-line.

This ain't that team. We need creativity to give this offense a lot of help.

No matter who you want to blame - QB, line, route running, no catching the ball, poor run game, offensive line blocking, OC - I don't understand the every single down multiple substitutions. HOW do you develop any rhythm whatsoever by doing so? I don't get it. That's why the faster-paced offense has worked, IMO. There is continuity and a rythym.

You are comparing 2018 to 2019? Burrow gained confidence and got comfortable as the 2018 season went on. He was a different person towards the end throwing for 300 yards in games. That was his first year ever being a starter. The difference is he got better and better. Then 2019 came and we know what happened there. So yes!! He would score 40 with the same plays and actually throw the ball.

Hold on now guys!! I totally agree with everyone that the plays are absolutely not fine with THIS QB and needs to be adjusted for Daniel's. I was simply stating that the plays called can be very successful with someone with the skill level to throw the ball down the field. We don't have that! So yes it needs to be changed to fit Daniel's abilities, and that's a big part of the problem, but there are receivers open with the plays being called. Just know that can throw it to them.

Not running the triple option.

If you insist on playing a qb who can run well, but not read a defense, get the ball out on time, or be accurate, then why not go to the triple option?

There is no passing offense that Daniels would thrive in. None. Even w the simplest of reads, he's late delivering the ball and it's a crapshoot of whether the ball will be placed accurately.

Yea, not blame the QB. How many times have you seen a HC speak on his team leader not trusting his eyes or not being aggressive enough? Thats very telling.

JD has many issues but I'll just name a few. He has NO IDEA what the D is doing pre-snap OR post-snap. He doesn't have a clue where pressure is coming from and is struggling to anticipate when its coming. He's often nervous which is why he throws so many high balls causing the WR to leap into the air to make the catch. Same when throwing a swing pass to the RB. He can't push the ball downfield and often throws to the closest player to him, i.e. why Mason Taylor gets so many attempts. His situational awareness is poor, which is why he constantly throws to guys nowhere near the sticks, forcing them to get 7 or more YAC for a 1st down. His pocket presence is bad, he often runs into pressure. When he does decide to throw to a WR running down the sideline, typically he throws to ball 5-8 yards out of bounds, not allowing the receiver any chance to make a play. I could go on and on.

The game in the SEC is just too fast for JD. He isn't constantly seeing huge windows to throw into like the PAC 12. He's now having to throw into smaller windows against defenders that have faster closing speeds with tighter coverage and he doesn't have confidence to make those throws. He's trying so hard not to be the reason they lose, that he's not being the reason they win. I think he's good enough but he needs to settle down and just play football. Right now, he's not mentally ready to lead LSU.
