I don't believe there is but one Saban at LSU in my lifetime. I'm seventy-six so there is hope for the younger fans soon.
However, he is our coach and I believe that he can have success here. I'm willing to let the season play out before I start paying for a moving van.

But he has recognized our weaknesses and addressed them. OL, DL, LB, and play calling, chavis, brick. Things les refused to acknowledge. So I’m hoping he will be better than les.
Uhhhh, Chavis leaving and hiring Aranda was under Les' watch.

Why do people on here that love orgeron think he can bring LSU to competing for championships again
Most of them don’t really argue that he can. They simply love that he’s coach and want people to start expecting less so he can continue to be coach.

Miles wanted to keep chavis. Dumbass

Op idiot. I have never seen anyone in this board say anything that would resemble O being a savior. I have, however, seen people that are rational and realize that he is our HC this year sit back and hope for the best. I have also seen miserable POS negative people like OP that do nothing but constantly bash when we have not played a game yet. So OP get back to your moms basement and STFU and give it a rest for at least a couple weeks because then you may have something to bitch about. Have some patience and F Off for now.

the way we responded after Troy makes me feel that was more of a learning blip than an indication of things to come.
This is my hope as well. LSU shouldn't be a learning stop. But, it happened. Might as well use it now for something.

I think The defense bounced back when Lawrence returned but I dont Think as a whole we responded all that well as much as the competition dropped off.
The next week we went out and played a garbage Florida team and won 17-16.
Auburn we needed Chark to return a punt 75 yards to win that game. For reference he had 190 punt return yards all season. So he got 40% of his total yards in that one return.
It’s not like all of a sudden we were firing on all cylinders.

9-4 in the worst SEC in over a decade, with a 30 point loss to a slightly above average State team and home loss to TROY.....that's reason to believe? Sorry man, but I think that is exactly why we shouldn't. And add the Canada debacle and hiring an OC that nobody wanted and wasn't even that good when he last had the job, 20 years ago. I can't think of single thing O has done to inspire confidence.
Agree to disagree. I look at how we responded to State and Troy. Best SEC record in several years. Finished strong and beat a very good Auburn team. Held strong with Bama. A good kicker away from a 10-win season and we have addressed special teams this off-season.
I think Ensminger will do great as will Burrow.

We lost by double digits....again.
Yes he upset AU, I won't discredit that. But don't give us this 6-2 in the SEC BS, and act like it was some great accomplishment when only one win came against a team that did not fire the coach...and even Gus was on the hot seat until he upset Bama.

Held strong. They beat us by 14 and kneeled out the game at the 5.. Last season should of easily been an 11 win season.

Coaches with heart and power.
Reminds me of Nick Saban 2000.
Loves LSU

This is what I'm talking about. You downplay or marginalize any achievement to fit your narrative. I don't care if the score is 3-2, I'm happy walking out of Gainesville with a win.
Why would you downplay a huge win against Auburn by acting like it was some stroke of luck or like we got totally bailed out? Auburn was a great team last season. We made the plays and we were the better team that day. Why, as an LSU fan, would you downplay that?

Because that's kind of what actually happened.
That Florida team last year won 4 games total.

I'm stating a fact. We went 6-2 in the SEC last year. It wasn't a crash and burn like so many are expecting. Maybe that will happen this year, but I don't think it will. I respect and understand why many believe that. I get it. I just disagree. I've seen many things that he has done with this program in a short time that makes me optimistic.

He is not a traditional type of x's and o's HC.
However, if he surrounds himself and maintains strong x's and o's, he is capable of the remainder of the HC tasks, which are:
- Overseeing game planning
-Program management
-Public Communication
- Sideline situational/game flow management and time management
- Recruiting (of players and coaches)
- Inspiration/Motivation of players
That is off the top of head, and not complete, but close enough for general commentary.
A "CEO_-style HC can win a championship.
I've seen no one say he is a savior, and many rightfully express that he is not like Urban and Saban...
But he does have a combination of features which can bring us to a championship. He thinks 3 times faster than Miles on the sideline, and seems to be much less hard-headed. Its gonna have to be good enough, cause true TigeRS ARE ROOTING FOR A CHAMPIONSHIP.
