I know they pull for LSU in those situations. In fact, other less astute fans from the Big 10 and 12 routinely post on messageboards and call into national radio shows wondering why the SEC fans stick together.
Again, I want the SEC so dominant that it's champion is considered by voters an automatic invite.

Texas is likely to get mauled. Besides, why, on God's green earth would LSU want Texas, especially, to win?

I want it to get to the point where a one loss SEC team is considered more worthy of the BCS CG than undefeated teams from other conferences. We're headed in that direction and can get there by the SEC owning the championship year in, year out.
Well it didn't help last year with Big Bad Bama losing to Utah.

exactly. since the SEC has been racking up ships, they have been getting the benefit of the doubt. wasn't there more teams with same number of losses when fla won their last ship? isnt there more than 1 teams undefeated this year, but bama gets the bid...if bama takes a 4th straight title for the SEC, next year the sec team will get a shot for the title if there are additional teams with the same record

I'm talking Championship game mostly. Bama vs Utah is forgotten by 80% of college football fans.
We saw that it helped when LSU leapt into the game in 2007. And, other SEC fans realize that LSU's beatdown of OSU helped their cause in the future.

I'm not pulling for Bama at all. Tonight was the a-hole Bowl. Saban vs Meyer. Mack is a good guy. I'm pulling for Mack and the Horns. I could careless anymore about pulling for another SEC team that we recruit against. frick Bama.

1.) i always pull for SEC
2.) i don't despise saban leaving for Miami. just the way he left.
3.) i hate mac brown

If the SEC win the National Championship Game each school in the SEC gets a $8 - $10 million
in addition to BAMA's big payday. One good reason to pull for your SEC team...So it just
makes sense.

why? 2007
we need the SEC to be as well-respected nationally as possible, so that if we are ever in a bad spot to make the title, but a bad spot with a chance, we'll get the benefit of the doubt

You are stupid. How would bama winning be any more detrimental to LSU recruiting then Texas winning. Bama will win and it will just further prove that SEC is by far the best conference. Big 12 has no defense--when texas plays good defense (oklahoma and nebraska) their offense is exposed for what it is--lackluster pass attack with no running game. Great Former Defensive coordinator Bo Pelini shut down Texas with his blue chip recruits (besides Suh, i realize he is arguably best d player in nation)--imagine what Saban is gonna do with his Bama D--gonna b a long night for texas

Mack was the quarterbacks coach (Alan Risher) when we beat Bear Bryant's last squad 20-10. See my sig.

Because I don't want to pull for a team that I know is going to get beat down in the BCSCG.

There are two main reasons LSU fans should pull for Bama (yak), more than UT.
1. LSU recruits far more players from Texas, having UT win the national championship only hurts our efforts in recruiting.
2. If the SEC continue to win National Championships every time it goes to them, then it becomes hard pressed for voters not to put the SEC champion in the title game...why would we wany any conference but our own to be in that postion.
(and on a personal note)
I find UT fans to be even more annoying than Bama fans - at least Bama has had a very sucessful history - Texas has no more of a history than LSU when it comes to football - so I dont understand their "high and mighty" persona...

You might want to check again. Texas is the second winningest college football program in the nation (behind Michigan).

check the historical relevance of the teams that UT has racked up a lot of those wins against. Texas Tech, SMU, Baylor, U of H, TCU, Rice. They played Arky and OU every year, that's about it. Their record against wittle ole LSU isn't that great. What is it? 9-7-1???
