Nice. We will be at 500 on Saturday. Makes sense though. Usually tough opponents when we move them up.

Tiger Stadium is largely a myth. When you take out creampuffs, it doesn't seem all that intimidating.

51 years? there is nothing to be learned from that stat. teams cycle up and down and there is virtually a zero relavance because the games featured so many different teams and opponents. sometimes statistics are very misleading and do not reflect an accurate outcome.

The day game stat was cited a lot more when Curley was coach and we regularly got crushed at home in day games back then.

Lot less relevant nowadays.

Playing only two night games a year will drastically change this from here on out.

you should consider reading some more papers online. The Advocate is not a very great newspaper for a state capitol city

This is true for a lot of state capital cities. Newspapers in general are not what they once were. The digital age has taken a toll on most newspapers.

TS at night isn't a myth though in the last 10 or so years

In the Miles era we've only lost a handful of night games. UF in 09, UTenn in the Monday night game and who else?

I say this team takes all those records and superstitions and turns them on their ear this year! I don't think they're phased one bit by where or when they play. They seem to relish the obstacles so that they can overcome them.

Tiger Stadium Day game record under Miles:
2005: 2-0 (Arkansas and Florida)
2006: 1-0 (MSU)
2007: 1-1 (USCe - Arkansas)
2008: 1-2 (App St. - Georgia, Bama)
2009: no day games
2010: 3-0 (UT, Bama, Ole Miss)

8-3

ETA:

and since I am bored in class I shall include the rest of the millennium:
2000: 1-0 (Bama)
2001: 2-1 (Bama and Arkansas - Florida)
2002: 1-0 (MSU)
2003: 2-1 (Georgia and Arkansas - Florida)
2004: 1-0 (MSU)

7-2

So in the 2000's we are 15-5 at home in day games!

That was probably because we had some shitty teams for a few stretches and only played day games against teams that were highly ranked.

Bingo.

Which is why that stat stung a lot worse back in the 90s when we were truly awful in day games.

Fans used to bitch a blue streak every time we were on JP (SEC Network these days) or CBS in the 90s. That and Texas A&M was frigging murdering us in that 1st game of the year when Curley was coach.

The 2000s stat is far more meaningful. LSU is a completely different program now. I just hope we never regress back to those days before the magic came back.

We are in the most dominant 10 year stretch of football ever for LSU.

Barely.

LSU finished in the Top 10 in a major poll for 10 out of the 15 seasons from 1958 to 1972.

LSU has only finished in the Top 10 in a major poll for 6 out of the last 10 seasons, which is the same number of times LSU did it in the 8 seasons from 1958 to 1965.

It's debatable how the 1960 & 1966 teams stack up against the 2002 & 2008 teams.

Western Illinois was not a day game.

Kickoff was at 7 pm. LINK

I think you meant Georgia, which was a 2:45 kickoff in Tiger Stadium in 2003. We did win that game by a score of 17-10.

That was at Lexington. This is referring to home day games.
