And yet storied programs like Texas, penn state, and Michigan couldn't find the right replacements. It's not as easy as you think.

Look a lot of people we irrationally on his arse from day one, as he was not Saban. He had a good run but it is over.

All those coaches deserved to be fired. Just because the admins fricked up their replacements doesn't change that fact. At this point id let kiffin coach lsu over miles.

Of course it isn't.

I dont know why people think this is a valid reason to keep someone who has lost their ability.

You don't keep Peyton Manning this year because finding another "Manning in his prime" is hard

Agreed, lets get it over with and get started so 3 or 4 years from now we have a real team

I said last night that I believe this is his last season but don't think firing him right now does anything positive for the season.

I bet you Aleva is already searching for coaches and has a list ready. It's a high possibility that we have 3 losses before November, and you can't tell me firing him mid season isn't the best option. Aranda or Ed O would be the interim and I'd take anything different than his stubborn approach at this point.

Regardless of who LSU picks as the new HC, they need to grab Kendal Briles as the new OC.

No doubt, I've made this observation myself. It would be improbable to make three straight great coaching hires.

But I refuse to believe that the sports infrastructure/empire that has been built at this school, specifically with the football program, is just going to evaporate when Les hits the road. I have never believed that.

We need someone who can utilize that infrastructure to produce competent teams. Results are ultimately what matters, but the way those results are achieved has to factor into the equation.

Michigan kept Lloyd Carr too long, Penn State kept Paterno too long, Texas kept Mack Brown too long. Those programs paid the price for their inaction, and I'm starting to get worried that we'll be added to that list.
Some would say Bowden too btw.

Many times if you're "worried", it's already too late. I'm convinced we are firmly on that list now. Hell, I was convinced last Nov we were there. I wish I could say I thought that on 1/10/12. I can't.

The media wants its lovable dancing monkey to keep getting them excellent ratings and headlines, and even they are turning on him
. The problem the media has now is that no matter how likable and/or funny he is he is quickly becoming irrelevant if he keeps underachieving and losing on the field. Sure he may be good for ratings doing and saying crazy things but he only got that attention because it somehow worked and he was winning. As he is quickly becoming a loser he does not demand any attention.

Grow up? Haha screw you. I know it's just a game. I just expect lsu to be better at this game than you do obviously. I wish lsu would do whatever is necessary to reach their potential at playing this game. That's all I'm saying. Dumbass.

No. I don't want anything that was associated with the shitshow at Baylor coming to LSU. Plus, he still needs to prove he can be a legit coach without his father guiding him.

Good I hope the national media crucifies him on his refusal to change and adapt. He deserves constant criticism until he either changes or steps down.

When you step back and look at current year and current players (including those who this will be there last year) and long term, to me making the move now is the onvious choice.

The players quit at half time and he has lost the team. The three and out to start the third and giving up quick score was telling ... O had nothing and D knew same old stuff and nothing to play for. They played later only after a pick 6.

Team will rally around an interim. They in fact could really excel cause of the great talent. They could even contend with an interim.

You also minimize risk to recruiting. Recruits will know change is happening and they won't see booing in the stands and hatred on the Internet. The hold negative gets turned and quickly.

One major downside risk, is if they rally around the interim then are you forced to keep him? I'm for going with Oregeron with a big fat deal so he knows he won't get it, but will have a key place going forward. You fire Cameron too and give Craig OC. You tell Aranda he will be considered and if we hire Herman he probably keeps him as D.C.

And one other thing ... Fans have a part of this mess. The pro Les faction combined by the media fed off of each other to give King the cover to stop the firing. It was the PC thing to do. If you act this week and make the moves, the media and the fans won't be in the way.

My two cents.
