Neither of these are the reason Baskerfield didn’t make the trip...

I almost walked out the store without paying for the toilet pepper on the bottom of the cart. It happens.

I have a rule at WalMart. If I can't carry it, I don't buy it. One day I was looking at cheap purple Blues Brothers shaped sunglasses. I tried them on and put them on my head to gauge comfort (cheap sunglasses are sometimes uncomfortable.) I walked around the store with the tag hanging down the side of my face. I picked up the other stuff I was buying and went through the checkout line.

When I got home, I looked at the receipt and the sunglasses weren't on it. I was kinda pissed... where are my sunglasses? I then reached up and they were still on my head.

Cashier either didn't see them or ignored. I had forgotten about them because I always wear sunglasses on my head indoors.

I took them back to the store and told Customer Service what had happened.

I was not arrested but I did technically steal something since it left the store without being paid for. But the intent to steal was not there.

I have also gotten distracted and walked out of Rouse's without paying for Dad's lunch meat. That time, I was crossing the highway leaving, went through a u-turn, and went back to the store and paid for my item.

So yes, mistakes/misunderstandings can happen.

This needs to play out and we need more information as to what was taken and the circumstances.

It’s case by case. I agree but there’s also a line you draw. If you’re 19 you’re still allowed to vote and defend this nation and I’m my opinion old enough to make mature decisions. Done mistakes should be forgiven and handled with proper penalties while others are not to be tolerated.

Also, sometimes a punishment or being dismissed from the team can be the reason a hound adult changed his life for the better. Tyrann Matheu is a perfect example

All U. S. Citizens are innocent until proven guilty.
All U. S. Citizens, including POLICE OFFICERS and Non-Demos, should receive due process!!!!!!!!!!!
Police Officers enforce laws which all citizens should obey. Without laws and enforcement thereof we do not have a civilization.

My 10 year old has made this mistake before. By the time I realized it, we were already in the parking lot and heading out.

My guess is WalMart probably wouldn’t have missed it much.

Oh I don’t know - miscount how many packs of water you have and don’t discover until you are loading them into your truck? Not have a shopping cart, so you stick something in your pocket and discover it when you pull your keys out at your truck? Yeah - I’m over 40 and have done both this year. It happens.

Yea I was a total nerd in highschool, just after. Hell I still am, I am an avid saltwater fisherman, I love anime, video games, and have the occasional yugioh duel on the computer with my best friend with some booze and weed like old times. Sucks I can't smoke no more, that shite helps me sleep so well. By the way, depending on the format and the rarity of the good cards, some of those pieces of paper cost over $100 each, some as much as $800-$1000 because of their rarity and usefulness in the current meta of the game.

WalMart doesn’t hire the brightest minds in the world. They hire people that are dumb enough to take very little pay at 38-39 hours a week without benefits.

My wife's son got busted for supposedly doing something he didn't do in Walmart. Some over zealous security dude claimed he changed the tag on an item. Cops were called and everything. They let him go after viewing the video.

Many of these kids grow up without good role models

My son will be in high school next year. He plays football and the past 2 years in junior high there may have been a total of 20 black men at the games (around 15 combined) while we have around 30 black players. A lot of the young men are being raised by elderly grandparents that don’t have the energy to properly parent or single mothers who bust their arse 24/7 and do the best that they can. It’s easy to judge these young men but most of them aren’t getting the parenting that they need.

used self checkout at Wal mart

Once again white knighting for criminals on this board. Nowhere has it even been implied that he used self checkout much less accidentally forgot to scan an item.

Plus Walmart has cameras and wouldn't have pressed charges if it could reasonably have just been a ln honest mistake. They press charges when there's obvious witness or video evidence because they know something plausibly accidental is neither good business nor worth the effort.

People acting like a 19 year old doing some dumb shite is so bad never really lived. He's just a kid. Plenty of us at 19 did illegal things but never got caught. Grow up to be fine people. Not like he did anything inexcusable such as hard drugs, assualt, or buglrary. It's petty shoplifting. All of us did petty dumb shite at 19. If you didn't no wonder some of are you miserable. Teach the kid a lesson and show him the way like most were
No dude, not everybody did dumb shite at 19.

Maybe you and your trailer park buds did dumb shite as the norm.

You're legitimizing illegal activity that's against the law because it's done by omnipotent LSU football playergod.

People in this board are complete idiots and most of the time I wish this website didn’t exist. It’s legitimately bad for LSU.

Exactly! A MISTAKE is an UNINTENTIONAL action. Theft is a premeditated, intentional action and should punished as such.

You most likely did not actually go to LSU or have ever stepped foot on a college campus if you think the majority of 19 year olds do not do dumb shite. God forbid you find out about Tigerland.

If any 19 year old kid commits a petty crime it should not be severe. The Key word is petty. There are definitely inexcusable doings, but a petty shoplifting is not one of them.
