"Work hard, play hard, practice like you play."

- Hudson "Curley" Hallman

versus

"Uh, one heartbeat...uh, Geaux Tigers."

- Ed Orgeron

About right and result will be about the same. Just hope we don't lose to Florida 58-3 like Hallman did.

This is an unmitigated disaster looming right off the shore.

And to be fair to Curly, I don't think he had the benefit of an expensive staff like Ed does or the talent.

And also to be fair to Curly, he didn't preside over the worst loss to State in program history, a school we've been playing for over 100 years.

Well this isn't the same Miss State program we are used to seeing. Back in those days no matter how bad LSU was they could circle that match up on the calender and expect a win. Dan Mullen has brought that program up from being the doormats they used to be.

You got a good taste of what it was like last Saturday.

That's exactly what I was feeling as I watched. Reminded me of A&M Curley's first opening game. All the same vibe.

Now we'll not fall quite to that level because there is too much talent (line inexperience noted), but that game did bring back those memories.

O supporters are literally making he excuse that State is a better program now, so it's understandable that we lost by 30 to them. Under no circumstances, ever, is it ok to lose to State by 30. LSU had too much talent to lose to any team on their schedule by 30, especially State.

State won the west in '99. one their best years in school history.
DiNardo went 2-8. one of the worst years in our history.
he lost to State by 1.

Never said it was acceptable to lose by 30 to them. Just pointing out that this isn't one of those old Miss State teams you can just expect to dominate on talent alone. Come unprepared and they can make you pay.

Obviously O and the staff didn't do enough during the week to make sure players were focused. That falls squarely on them. I realize depth and inexperience are big problems right now but the guys that are available need to step up.

Alabama won the West in 99.

State won the West in 98 when a 4-7 Dinardo team beat them 41-6.

Their, not there. Also, if that one game is all you need to see, then gtfo now. You won't be missed.

I have blanked out the 90's LSU football due to tramatic amnesia!

Lsu has very very very little talent on the OL. They have very little experienced talent on the DL with the injuries and suspensions. Those are facts that aren't up for debate. I know that doesn't fit your agenda though.

I was at that game in Starkville. Don't remember if it was Mealey carrying or not but they crossed the goal line. bullshite call. Hearing the cowbells in person was a dreadful experience.
