What is the alternative? Run everything as normal and let everyone get infected? Even if the coronavirus is just a "glorified flu" they cant just expose everyone to this illness when there is no vaccine around and no one has immunity to it. There would probably be so many players sick soon that the SEC/NCAA tourney would be hindered anyway.

People don’t want anyone to get infected. It’s not unreasonable to react negatively due to almost everything getting so easily locked down in daily life.

H1N1 was much more widespread (700m-1.4b cases vs 130k+. The difference is H1N1 was only slightly deadlier than seasonal flu at .02% vs COVID-19’s 3%+.

People walked around in the grocery store and anywhere they wanted to with the regular flu, touching everything and coughing/sneezing everywhere. The same regular flu that killed 27,000 people in the USA last year, and nobody shut anything down, quarantined anyone, etc.
