For all of you armchair athletic directors... Who would you hire at head coach?

We could start by getting Scott Woodard and let him do the hiring.

For what they pay Alleva, I can promise you a more thorough process than what you got last time.

Promote Dave Aranda to HC
Tell him he needs to do two things

Go find some big 12 type QB from Texas
Hire a young OC to run it

hire Woodard to replace myself as I resign

Hiring O was absurd, but I don't think he should be replaced yet unless he refuses to get a real OC. We are trending upward. The talent is getting better. Also time to find another S&C guy. Not saying Moffit sucks, but sometimes need fresh guy.

Anyone not names Orgeron is a good start.

Do we want to pay money or go back to TJ Maxx for a HC? That question needs to be answered first.

Here is a little secret most don't consider. Job security in coaching is very low. Coaches consistently prove they will leave a school for more money. Some are harder to get than others depending on their situation.

So... how much do I have to spend?

Unlimited... I go get Dabo

Mid range budget- I get Brohm from Purdue

Tj Maxx (the sequel) I go get Charlie Strong or Gundy.

Agree....it’s like people think every ELITE coach out there wants to coach at LSU... check the last coaching search list a few years ago...that will tell you what is out there...pretty much coaches with lots of skeletons....let me know when you find that BIG money tree also...

Any head coach that actually coaches and doesn’t just stand on the sideline clapping or walking around the huddle clapping... he doesn’t talk during timeouts, mic is always up/ no input with the coaches in the booth.

...well, there’s a coach at aTm that’s making $75 mil and has a record of 5-4.... and how much is O making and what’s his record?....hummmmmm

Why is the process so difficult for some people to understand? You put a search committee together. You reach out to a list of coaches to gauge their interest. You rank those coaches. You interview those coaches. You vet their resumes, experience and results until you come up with the best hire.

What you don't do is put all of your eggs in one basket, and then when that coach turns you down throw a Top 15 coaching job at a man with a career losing record. That's absolutely the last thing you do unless you're an incompetent, lazy frick.

Give Jimbo two years to build his roster & they’ll be making championship runs

A&M will be better than LSU in 1-2 years, just like Bama with Saban.

Well I don't think we should fire O (even though he needs to learn how to talk to media). I say that with the condition he fires Ensminger ASAP and brings a coach to truly modernize the offense. That's what he said he was going to do and the one guy he hired who wasn't already on staff we paid $1.5 million to go away. Some will say between that and SE it's enough, but I think he should get one more chance to fix it before his contract is up. Firing him now would be dumb as most of the top coaches were taken in the past few seasons. Ride out the contract and if O can't fix the offense in that time then fire him and move on.

yep and still would. It takes more then one year to rebuild a team in the toilet. Let him get his recruits in and judge him after a couple of years.

Since we're just throwing shite against the wall here. How about Matt Campbell? Not sure of the fit but he's got the Cyclones in a pretty good place.

I'm 100% sure I could do a better job as AD than Alleva.
