I think its absurd for people to get all bent out of shape at possibly postponing the football game.

For a fricking Hurricane that won't be here til Tuesday?? How many other times pre Katrina were there Hurricanes near the time of an LSU game and how many times did the game get moved? Ever since Katrina people think any storm is going to be the next Katrina. Pansies.

Blanco Legacy

She messed up so bad with Katrina, Bobby is making sure not to replicate her mistake. In my opinion he is overeacting here, really does starting the game a few hours earlier going to make much of a diffirence, given how far out the storm is?

How many storms before Katrina hit SELA? Was there panic in the streets then? Did they move back football games for a storm that won't be here til Tuesday night? That's so far away there's no way to be sure where it will hit? Does it take 3 days to evacuate people using a contraflow system? And if so, why even have the contra flow system?

Possible solution to storm dilemma:

Everyone who needs to evacuate should leave ASAP. We all stay home and watch the game on TV (hence no traffic problem to interfere with evacuation routes). We can pipe in crowd noise through the house system at the stadium to make the players feel like it's a normal game day atmosphere. Heck, we could even put 90,000 or so cardboard cut-outs in the stadium seats to emulate fans. True, they may blow away and ruin the whole ambiance. The presence of Tiger Band could possibly be handled through audio recordings and holographs although nothing could possibly compare to the real thing.

Seriously, people who need to leave should not hesitate...go early. According to the predictions of storm proximity, etc. there seems to be plenty of time to play the game. After all, we're talking only 60 minutes of football. It shouldn't take that long to whip up on the Mountaineers.
