Jeremy Witten probably the greatest punter in NCAA history that averaged under 35 yards!

McClure/McClure...

Trey/Todd

Just a stretch, I know the brothers each played a different sport, but definitely excelled in each.

Oh and Spencer Ware played football/baseball too

He didn’t play baseball at LSU, I don’t believe. He played minor league baseball in the summer before returning to Baton Rouge in the fall. Kinda like Ricky Williams and Russell Wilson iirc.

And Chad Jones, while a big part of that ‘09 World Series run was never a “starter.” It’s just too hard to do both, That’s why the best recent answers to this are Witten and Jackson who punter and kicked, respectively.

Roy “Moonie” Winston

Was about to post him. All- American guard in early 60’s. All-Pro LB for Vikings.

Mikie Mahtook could have been a great dual threat QB, but Les wanted him as a DB... He wound up on the baseball team as an afterthought.

Jones rarely picthed a 2nd inning.

um, Jones played a good bit (even got some starts) in the outfield prior to leaving the team for spring football. Was actually a pretty damn good hitter too.

OP said starters in Both.

Jared Mitchell

Jared Mitchell didn't consistently start in football. He had a handful of spot starts. Not knocking Jared at all but I would also say that he wasn't a major contributor either, which was another thing the OP mentioned.

Yea you’d think we’d have more of these guys. I mean if you’re good at baseball and football I can’t imagine a better school

Mitchell had 24 catches in 3 seasons. Great tiger, but he was never a major contributor in football.

More ways to contribute than just catches, trust me, as someone who played the game..you sound ignorant.

yep, and I think he did actually start at QB a little in 1991, or am I think of Loup/Daigle with Huffman coming in to run the option?

He played football a little, probably like you say in special packages meant for him. I remember him playing a little in center field for the baseball team. It's tough playing a position like qb and being able to excel in baseball with spring football going on during the baseball season.
