Need some help.

Planning to go to the Florida game. What is the best option for flights? Gainsville? Jacksonville? Orlando?

Jacksonville is about 45 mins using back roads. Orlando is about an hour and a half if I remember correctly.

I lived in Orlando for 10 1/2 years. Very nice airport, can't get lost leaving. There are two separate exits, one for the tourist areas and one for the toll roads/I-4 that head north toward the Fl. turnpike and then I-75 that goes to Gainesville. Maybe just over an hour drive time. The airport is a little southeast of downtown. I'd personally go with this although it's about the same drive from Jacksonville. J'ville is a larger so it may be a little confusing leaving the airport. Never been there so I can't say for sure. Either way, make sure the Tigers win!

F that. Drive if you are within 7 hours. Orlando international is 3 hours away and Jacksonville is 2.5 hours away.

I'm flying into Orlando two days before kickoff to enjoy the area before the game. It all depends on your time and what you wish to do before kickoff also.

More like one hour without traffic and about an hour and a half on gameday.

not to the airport it isn't. you will be looking at 1.5 hours to JAX and 2 hours each to Tampa and Orlando's airport cheapest flights will probably be Tampa on Southwest

first off, the drive is longer than 7 hours. second off, neither airport is that far away. I go to G-ville once a month, and thats whats up

I live in Orlando. I recommend coming here and staying here as well. Gainesville absolutely sucks.

Southwest has direct flights that are cheap from Nola to Orlando. When I go to LSU games, I fly to NOLA and drive up. I assume the reverse would be equally good.

It is not a 7 hour drive to Gainesville from Baton Rouge. It is 600 miles. Orlando is about 100 miles from Gainesville and Jacksonville about 50. Southwest has non-stop service from New Orleans to both Orlando and Tampa. Delta will get you to Jacksonville pretty quickly connecting through ATL, but you never know about that airport. Good luck and hope you aren't wasting a bunch of money.

Jacksonville is closer than Orlando but it is a difficult drive. No direct roads and lots of notorious speed traps. (Waldo). On gameday, the traffic can get pretty bad up there.

personally i would fly into jacksonville..it is a large airport and very easy to navigate from jville to gville..the drive is 1.5hr max

if you do plan to come for a fri, sat and sunday, take time to enjoy the springs that are about 10-15 miles north of gainesville..float a cooler down the river with you and your friends...bad arse time

i would stay away from downtown which is mainly the night club scene...the cops are dicks there...friday nights i would stop by the grog house for all u can drink beer...get there early so you can get a table, fills up fast..saturday morning head over to the swamp restaurant and enjoy some beers behind that famous white fence and watch the games of the day on the big screen

avoid carrying open containers if you are a visiting fan...the cops are dicks and will single u out...you should be ok if you stay in your general tailgait area with your drink..do not walk around with one

if your interested in seeing the gator walk it happens 1.5 hours b4 kickoff on university ave

saturday night i recommend either swamp restaurant, grog again, or sharab which is an upscale lounge downtown

hope you guys all enjoy your trips...tailgaiting experience is very different from BR..very spread out..but watching a game in the swamp makes up for our piss poor tailgaiting

if you are under 22, stay the hell away from grog, and if you are going on friday, get there before 8 unless you plan on waiting in a long line to get in (same goes for Gator City/XS)

I'll be posting my complete guide to G-ville the week of the game with more detailed descriptions of most of the bars and places to eat in mid town, downtown and archer rd area.

They treat visiting fans like shite in Gainesville. UFPD and GPD really abuse their authority on gameday.

They have made UF one of the worst places to visit in the SEC.

Yes, I'm a cop of more than 20 years so I am justified saying this.
