I remember right before his last season at LSU I said on here "he will go pro after this year" and I was told I was stupid and didn't know what I was talking about.

Would have had Sr season with mett. And I don't think he was as good as Jarvis as someone else alluded to. He would have put up stats in the NFL if that were true.

The stats never met the potential. Drafted in 2012, cut from the CFL this year.

ONE of my favorite receivers LSU had that nobody hardly talks about. He was solid showed up on some big games too

My cousin was a football coach at Walker when he was in HS, and he said it was obvious that Deangelo Benton was a much better athlete. Both should have been at LSU, but, from what I'd heard, they didn't want to play at the same college because they both basically played the same position. Or would at LSU.

Was a monster in 2011 and a big part of LSU's run through the SEC.

Deangleo Benton was a 3* who totaled less than 400 yards and 1 TD at Auburn.

I'd say your cousin was wrong and LSU got the better end of that deal.

I knew lots a hs coaches that were extremely bad evaluators of talent.

I live on the Gulf Coast and know several HS coaches. We all play golf together.

Their evaluations mean about as much as mine, and I haven't coached a single down of football in my life.

How come Rueben Randle was better than OBJ at LSU but then the roles reversed in the NFL when they were both playing for the Giants?

I watched Reuben play Benton in the playoffs when he was playing at Bastrop and he was and still is the most elusive player I've ever seen in high school. Most athletic would have to go to TK Fleming.

He was a 4 star coming out of HS, depends on which service you looked at. I don't recall him being a 3 star when he was being recruited. He went to prep school for a year so that's probably where he got that 3 star. But in HS he was a very good player. LINK / I didn't and neither did my cousin say he was a better receiver than Ruben. Just because a guy is a outstanding athlete doesn't mean he is a better player. I mean, Larry Bird was not near as good an athlete as, say, Jordan Mickey or Duop Reath, but he was a lot better basketball player. Benton was a very good athlete, he just wasn't as good a receiver as Rueben.
