Who were the hot OC names at the top of the Rant's wishlist (like Briles
and Freeze now) for Miles to replace Cameron with?

I remember Lincoln Riley was making a name for himself at East Carolina back then. And Scott Frost at Oregon.

Cameron went with Les.

I wanted Enos after O got the job full time and after Canada, most on this board wanted the hot name of the week...including Stirling Gilbert

In all seriousness, I wanted Kendall Briles. Always have and will probably always think he's the best option. I like how they ran the ball as well at Baylor.

Miles had his buddy Cameron(Miles' "yes man") = O has his buddy Ensminger (O's "yes man"). Miles and O are very similar in the fact they are control freaks and are both conservative in nature offensively. Until you get an offensive minded coach like a Lincoln Riley, etc. the offense will struggle.

Yup, people recognize it now.. but many didn't realize Baylor often was top 3 or so in rushing back then..

Even though they were thought of a passing team..

Briles runs a tremendous offense. He is like top 3 in TDs this season at Houston.

Please LSU, go get that man. He's available for the taking. The excitement would be unreal.

I think Briles will find success like Lincoln Riley has at OU when all is said and done.

Speaking of Riley, NFL wants him bad. If he has the itch, he may not be at OU much longer.

I posted in this thread Doug Meachem.

He was incredible at TCU but struggled at Kansas and got fired.

I remember when Crowton was out a few years before Cameron.
I was hoping we’d offer Dana Holgorsen, and then we went with Kragthorpe.
Sure’d be nice to have WVs offense.

I wanted someone who would install a spread offensive that could have fully utilized all of the skilled guys that LSU brings in year in and year out without fail, that would have possibly even been able to scheme around our chronic deficiencies on the offensive line. I honestly didn’t care who it was. It’s past time for that change and I sadly don’t see O ever doing it. For whatever reason.

Like for a long time we were just hoping Jimbo or Herman would fix our offense.
