I'm sure they get involved in other states, however in other states they make the correct move.

It doesn't even come close to comparing your defense of Miles on any topic. People had hope for a coach who could come in and right this ship. Miles ain't the man to do it. I hope he proves me wrong next year but I seriously doubt it.

Maybe jimbo will be willing to come next year?

If the powers that be remain in power when CLM retires or is fired, we will not land Jimbo or anyone capable of demanding a top salary.

This entire situation is illustrative of the mindset of those in power at LSU and in Louisiana politics. And the heart of this situation seems to have been about money (and the perception of spending too much money) rather than only being about certain people lobbying to keep CLM on the job.

The fact is that the LSU Athletic Department is headed by Alleva, and the LSU system is headed by Alexander, and there are more politicians who don't like the optics of the expense of the football arms race (despite the realities of where the money comes from) when LSU academics are facing huge financial difficulties...if those guys are in charge when LSU hires its next coach, they will not be willing to pay for a home run hire. They just won't. They will not change their minds about this even if CLM loses every game next year. They will still not be willing to fund his buy off and then turn around and pay millions per year for a top tier coach...even if all of that money is coming from private donors. They will go cheap, and if we are extremely lucky, we'll get a good one...or we end up back in the 80s (if we're slightly less lucky) or 90s with the wrong hire (God forbid).

If anyone is a praying person, start praying now that certain people in the greater hierarchy are gone during our next coaching search.

The jimbo obsession on this board is starting to get creepy.

It's being reported left and right that Jimbo was negotiating for the job, and you somehow think it's creepy to discuss this on a message board?

God forbid LSU fans wish we had a HC who can produce 1st round QBs. (4 to be exact)

Your fence riding, white knighting for Miles shite is unbecoming, and tiresome. You can't win an argument on here in this regard. You constantly complain about people complaining. One minute you are licking Miles' chode, and the next you're berating those who want him replaced. You're spasmodic at minimum. And let's not forget, "all eras come to an end"- BeeFense

I don't care that much about it because I don't really use the feature. I'm just pointing out how ridiculously awful it has gotten on here that you can't even post positive about next season with out pissing someone off.

In the future, fans should golf clap, and any signs should make it clear it's a send-off, e.g., "Good luck in retirement!", "Thanks for the memories!", "Enjoy your free time!", etc.

the only one sucking is you-on Miles' dick. Or apparently whoever the HC of LSU is. No one gives a frick that you blindly support Miles.

You remind me of women who stay with abusive husbands because "I love him and he hasn't always been this way; he's just going through a lot right now."

Best move in Jindal's 8 years, you can't fire a coach with Les resume and don't expect total backlash nation wide. I am done with this subject, one day history will show that Les was and is the greatest coach in LSU history.

The potential deal to fire Les Miles as LSU’s football coach began to fall through early last week as the school’s president started to intervene even as negotiations between LSU and Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher were ongoing, multiple sources have told The Advocate.

Right there in the first paragraph, but yeah, let's all pretend Jindal made the decision so we can keep the incompetent buffoon university president in place to continue to embarrass LSU and Louisiana.

From this account & several others, Jindal did in fact make those calls. But as noted, he is nothing but a lame duck & literally has no leverage whatsoever. I have no doubt that Alexander was behind the decision but I just can't see Jindal having that kind of stroke any more. And let me be clear: I detest Bobby Jindal.

Yes. You are right.

Now who is guaranteed to do that then?
