once they set a time for the game, check LSUsports.net, gameday section to find out what time the will march down the hill, its different depending on what time the game is.

One thing I can not wait for, is watching the tiger band run down a hill while they play before the game? is that what they do? its something before the game is all I know!? The only other band to give me chills, is the Golden Band from Tigerland!
And make sure you are in your seat before our pregame starts, you can't miss that.

the band usually comes down about an hour and a half before gametime

Google the Gold Club in Baton Rouge. Right off of Collge Drive and walking distance to the Station, a bar a previous poster mentioned.

if you are already in BR, might as well experience NO for a bachelor party. He'll never forget it.

May I suggest some awesome Web sites?
visitbatonrouge.com - anything and everything
lsusports.net
foreverlsu.org
lsutaf.org
lsu.edu
mikethetiger.com
lesmiles.com
tigerstadium.com
dandydon.com
Some places to eat I like: The Chimes of course, Walk-Ons, Louie's Cafe, Mike Anderson's on West Lee, and the very best seafood restaurant in the state (IMHO) - Brunet's off Florida Blvd and S.Flannery - owned by former Washington Redskin Bob Brunet, a La. native.
The Gold Club for your bachelor party.
Tailgating: You may want to check with UGA's Alumni Assoc or their Athletic Dept to see if they have reserved the LSU Fieldhouse on Nicholson behind the Maravich Assembly Center for Georgia tailgating - Va.Tech did last year.
Any other suggestions, just send me a message.

The Chimes is the obvious answer, if you go on game day get there when they open or the lines will be ginormous. There is also a second Chimes close to your hotel; just do down Airline and then a short ways up Coursey; it is good too for times other than game day. If you want a great restaurant try Roberto's River Road Restaurant. It is about 20 miles but great food at a reasonable price and is in a neat old building in a small town along the Mississippi River.
We'll be making the drive from Georgia for that one too.

... On the Sleep Inn - if you just stayin' there to sleep and go, not too bad...but on a scale of 10 , maybe a "five-ish"...close to InterState 10/12 which is good.....traffic WILL be ( esp for this game which will generate a lot of early birds looking for tailgate space) bad game day...so head off towards campus early, no later than 9:00 I suggest ...On Friday you can go to some local owner ( the best ones to go to..) eateries/bars on the Sleep Inn side of town ( East side....), highly recommended. Just google up and map quest from Sleep Inn:
1. "Chimes East" ( same folks as the campus loc. Chimes) on
Coursey Blvd. Plenty flat panel TVs, eye candy, great food,
60 - 70 beers on tap, etc etc. "Local cuisine" very good.
2. A new "Walk-Ons" , just down the street from Chimes East,
also on Coursey Blvd. A just renovated place that used to be
an O'Henrys. These guys also have a place just off south side
of LSU campus ( walk to Tiger Stadium) that is big fun on
game day ( but crowded). Lots of TVs, sports bar atmosphere.
Solid food quality, oustide 2nd floor terrace. prob. some live
on Friday night.
3. "George's" , a couple miles or so down Coursey Blvd east from
Chimes East and Walk-Ons. Many say best po-boys in city.
Has outside patio/bar. Great food. Huge seafood platters,
etc.. There are 3 "George's" in town, same folks, all good!
The one on Perkins Rd ( "under the overpass" ) is close to
LSU , and is "the original" joint favored by most patrons.
Right next door, is "Chelsea's" , a live music venue later at
night that has great food, and also "Ivars Sports Bar" is across
the street, also solid local guys joint.
You cant go wrong with these places, cher! Enjoy your
visit!
