At this point it's very unlikely you'll find any place to stay in or around Oxford. Might try Grenada but either way you're probably going to have to stay at least 45 minutes outside the city unless you find someone with a place to rent.

Don't walk around with open containers. Cops will take it from you. Everything has to be in a cup. If you have an ice chest, don't ever let go of it or it will be considered unattended and cops will empty it. You will see ice chest with locks on them at tailgates.
This is a big one. And if you are rolling/carrying a cooler and you drop it, hurry up and pick everything up and put it back as fast as you can. If a cop sees any cans/bottles of beer they will make you pour out every single one of them. Seen it happen so many times. You don't have to be secretive when pouring into a cup but don't flaunt it. You won't have any problem with liquor though, just beer.

Don't miss the ducks If your wife likes cheesecake, hit up Cheesecake Corner. It's close to the Peabody and delicious. If you have time for breakfast in Memphis, Brother Junipers is amazing. You can check in for a table online, so you don't have to wait too long once you actually get there.

Then don't blame your husband if you catch him checking out the scenery. It gets even the best of us.

Well nothing compares to LSU.
But if he's going, that's the only place you are allowed to tailgate.
I don't know about parking, I always parked at friend's houses on that trip. It's a nice little town. The square is where everything will be happening as far as night life.

When I went two years ago, I parked at a nearby church for 20 bucks.

Parking on campus is a bitch on game day but there is a strip mall on the west side, highway 6 where the movie theater is...there’s a free shuttle that will take you into campus. Wouldn’t park a car with any LSU markings on campus anyway...they’re liable to key it or bust a window out.
frick the grove. I got a ticket even though I had my drink in a cup. Singled me out amongst the ole miss people. They hate LSU so they frick you anyway they can.

Gotta be more to this story. I've been absolutely hammered and no where near subtle with my drinks in the grove several times in LSU gear and never had an issue with the law.

I live in Memphis, for hotels I recommend Lakeland & Collierville towns or outskirts of the city. Avoid anything on Lamar ave or brooks rd like the plague.

I am a Louisiana native but have 2 kids at OM. We set up a tent in the Grove and visiting team fans are welcome. Look for the tent with the cute dog running around and say hello.

It's nice go once but there are other SEC schools that are a much better road trip...unless you enjoy being packed like sardines in the very small grove..eating finger food and fried chicken...you cant cook in the grove so why would a cajun what to go there...
OM fans love when the game is in BR so they can party in new orleans Friday night and drink on campus all day saturday...

Ole Miss on campus parking passes for LSU game
There seem to be quite a few passes available, like at LSU the beauty of having a parking pass is that you can drive around campus...

Not sure if this has changed but you can't drink beer out of a can you have to drink it out of a cup. Re Memphis: Beal St is overrated.

We stayed in Granada after the game before. Much cheaper plus closer to home.
