Posting on or reading an anonymous internet message board probably isn't for you.

How did you get the LSU font in your picture? I want it

I agree. There has been a dramatic decline in the quality of posters on this board. I still come here daily, but it seems like the Tiger Rant is the same every day. Nothing new in a long time.

Completely agree!!!!
Long post --- you don't like that, get over it and don't read it.
Bash me too if you want. The idea of a passionately held opinion seems to be confused with the almost maniacal desire to insult or level someone anonymously.
I come to the board to read about the Tigers, and really, I come also to learn about the palyers and the offensive and defensive schemes or trends from people more knowledgable than I. There are people on this board with more understanding of the inner workings of LSU football than I. I like hearing their thoughts.
What I find troubling is that the board almost seems to be like Democratic and Republican politics today. There is limited civil discourse coupled with the distinct need to denegrate a differing view. I like it when posters talk positively or realisitcally about players. Pointing out shortcomings is par for the course today, but to savage anyone, especially players, seems counter-productive, hateful, and mean-spirited.
As for some background about me, I never played a down of organized football or basketball. I am a lot older than the average man or woman on this board. I understand football vicarioussly from watching and reading, and I have great respect for players and coaches. I do get mad at Les Miles over a call or an event. Some friends and I wanted to destroy the TV set after the Ole Miss game, but I don't wish ill on the man.
I also have the feeling that some on this list who profess to be the second coming of Ara Parshegian and Knute Rockne know less about the game than I do. Anybody can be a 6'4" macho man, three time All-American genius behind the shroud of a computer keyboard.
It would be great if we could have meaningful discussion complete with disagreement, logic, and self-discipline. I have come to like posting since i have started doing it about a week ago. It does wear thin sometimes however.

Bah, once you see some of these guys post enough you can kind of figure out their motivations and it won't bother you as much.

If the internet and a globally accessible anonymous forum existed 50 years ago, you'd have seen pretty much the same crap. You just didn't have the (cough) pleasure to hear every tom-dick-and-harry's opinion back then.

Your post is a matter of opinion and I don't give a frick about yours.

Is it now the "in" thing to be a online macho bully offering threats and downgrading someone's passion and thoughts?

Good job--I agree. You are a Welcome addition to the board. :geauxtiger

I'm not going to bash you, but don't stay on the Tiger Rant. Literally the only reason I get on here is because I find it hilarious how uninformed and stupid 70% of the posts on here are. Try some of the other boards, like the MSB and Movie/Tv Board. They are so much better than this one.

The media has chosen Mallett as the SEC poster boy and Texas as their team supreme.
If you watch ESPNU they are running a commercial for themselves featuring teams and their players.
Well in that commercial twice they show LSU in two different places and teams as if LSU lost both games. One is the Football team being scored against by Mallett throwing a TD against LSU last year. Then they show a Texas player hitting a HR against LSU during the CWS. In both instances they do not say who won the games we as Tiger fans know who won LSU won both games.
They have scewed that commercial in a way to show what they want to get across a certain partraial so they can say we already knew it before it happens.
That is the way it is on here. Do not come on here trying to prove something with common scense because you will find none on here, it just does not exsist. So happy posting and welcome to the RANT!

I propose that we rename the "Tiger Rant" to the "Logical, Civil, Tiger Discourse"
