I agree. Terrible source, they never have much good to say about us, but Saturday in Baton Rouge was no doubt gonna be number one.

Back in Baton Rouge and sitting in right field of the old Alex Box Stadium is the billboard called “The Intimidator.” It lists national titles for 1991, ’93, ’96, ’97 and ’00.

When the new Alex Box opened its doors this season, Mainieri, his team and LSU fans had hoped to see the billboard back in its rightful spot. Some opposed the idea.

But now the Tigers have ’09 to add to the billboard, and chances are Mainieri once again will have a wish come true.

“Do we get a new ‘Intimidator’ with a new number?” Mainieri asked LSU athletic director Joe Alleva at the end of the news conference.

“You bet,” Alleva said.

Went to several games with my dad in the early 80's and then went to baseball camp each summer from 85-88. I remember some guys - Greg Fontenot, Mitch Duplantis, Joey Bell....And a skinny Skip Bertman. I always thought they were all superstars back then....Great memories.....

Dandy Don has one going on his blog page.
Hawthorne is searching the record books for one player hitting two dingers in one inning. I was there the day Cresse hit two in that big inning against Cal St Fullerton. I think they hit 4 or 5 homers in that inning. Does anybody remember that?
