Yes, but he is doing a piss-poor job in all of his responsibilities. Unfortunately, you are probably right that he won't be fired.

We had that chance and the sheeple elected Governor Honor Code instead. We wouldn't be in this spot with Vitter. Same idiot voters that gave BR and New Orleans their equally outstanding leaders

I honestly believe is us as fans make a big enough ish storm about all of this , then someone is getting canned. Doing my part by not sending the school a donation and no longer attending any games.

>The school's academic ranking has tanked under his watch.

schools funding tanked after financial crisis. You don't build a top public school without the funds of a top public school.

LSU has grad students teaching as much as professors in the business school. Alabama doesn't do this. Georgia doesn't do this. Florida doesn't do this. UNC doesn't do this. It shows what the funding situation is. Grad students cost 15K, profesors cost 150K. You guys wonder why the academic ranking sucks? Academic rankings work like college athletics. You hire the attract/retain the best professors and your rank goes up. LSU doesn't have the funds to do that.

Its funny to see people talk about stop supporting athletics and expecting change. If athletics stops turning a profit, LSU football has no hope of recovering. They don't have the money to actually rebuild the program. Athletics has been able to spend what it wants because it turns a profit, where most programs turn losses. If LSU becomes what it is most schools, academic side isn't going to fill financial short falls. They will just cut down the size of hte program.

It will take an all out blitz plan by Richard Zuschlag, Brian Cheramie, David Landers, the influential Austin TAF Member.. forget his name, Richard Sturlese, and maybe if any Lod Cook’s children that are still deeply involved. Don’t expect the Governor to be on board either.

The academic side has went to shite to under his watch. That might be what gets him fired. Bud Davis sure in the hell didn’t get fired bc of the LSU football program and even with joe Dean running the whole athletic department into the ground and into the red during the early to mid 90’s. Of course Joe put in his car in the LSU’s lakes along sorority row under Bud’s watch.

And he isn't any good at those other responsibilities either.

Very true, I agree.

But since arriving to LSU, what has improved? Academically or athletically?

Serious question. I'm not involved with LSU day to day. But outside of athletics, has anything good happened under FKing's watch?

He is in over his head, but I suspect they got him cheap. He has no major research university experience. Previous stints at Long Beach and Murray State are not training grounds for running a flagship/land-grant university with major athletics programs.

I wish people weren't so stupid. You make statements without any evidence to back it up. Have you looked at the funds that LSU has available every year? That was rhetorical, because I know you haven't.

I'll let you in on a little secret.....LSU's revenue INCREASES every year. Shocking, isn't it? They haven't ever had a budget issue. After all of the whining and complaining all over television about closing this, and closing that, nothing was ever in financial danger. They raise tuition just like every other school in the state does. They fired all of those teachers and replaced them with grad students so they could use the money for other things. Wanna know another fricked up thing? They push teachers and students to get grants because they take 49% of the grant money and put it in the general fund.

Discounting those, the tuition hikes more than cover what the state doesn't pay them. And now that they are going to require freshman to live on campus, that's another $20MM+ each year. If you thought them requiring freshman to live on campus was some type of "campus experience", you're mistaken. It was about revenue.

/rant

Almost all of the upper level offices at LSU are political positions

It's all true. Hell, I went and spoke to the president of UNO once about something. We ended up talking about the budget shite and legislature shite, and he said UNO hasn't ever had a budget problem, and neither had any other schools in the state. A lot of it is the departments mismanaging their funds, but at LSU, everyone uses the extra money for random, ancillary shite. People probably got fired so they could have a fricking electrical plug in CEBA parking lot. A lot of people have been fired over the past 10 years for the imaginary budget issues. A lot of good teachers. A lot of good workers.

LSU is very good representation of the state of Louisiana

It doesn't surprise me in the least that LSU is ran like this state. Completely inexcusable for a university of LSU's caliber.

If you down voted this, you are oblivious to reality. Typical fans who think powers that be think anything like fans. King nor Alleva will be fired based on a football coaching hire. It's beyond laughable to think a president will be fired based on football.
