Beth is making a half 1 million. You don’t have to pay that to get someone like the kid that’s on their staff. You can spend 300,000 and be in that top list. A great coach doesn’t mean one that cost a lot of money. It just means that someone can do what we need to do to win. If they move on then fine. It’s a non-revenue generating sport.

She is not getting fired. They’d have to pay the remaining contract and her staff.
The athletic department is going to revenue share the max amount that they can’t and part of that is not “wasting” money by firing a woman he just resigned to an extension thru 2028.

Berzon looking for greener pastures, and that won't be hard to find. There are so many greener pastures out there for these young athletes to choose than a sinking ship like we have here at LSU.
Why would a young woman, talented in softball, want to play for a mediocre coach who repeatedly produces a product that is middle of the road?

Well why doesn’t every kid get in the portal and go to OU? Why doesn’t Texas catcher? Florida hitter Shumacker? OU is the only team to win a natty in last 4 years so I guess everyone should portal. Hell Nussmeir should portal to greener pastures.

Maybe every kid doesn't have the talent to go into the portal with expectations that they get signed by a contender...or maybe the kid with talent sees something in her coach that satisfies her desire for a winning team. Would you stick around with a losing program for your senior year when you can probably dominate or be one of the best on the team that signs you?

They gave her an extension last year.
I knew that was a mistake.
They don’t want to spend the money to fire her now.

Agreed. Can't wait for February 2026 and see what the new roster looks like. Probably won't hear shite about who is coming and who is leaving until then....both players and coaches.....but the one constant will be Elizabeth back in the saddle

Hadn't been to WCWS in 8 years that's Horrible!!! We got some idiot fans saying her winning percentage is the best ever. I argue Against top 10 teams her percentage is horse crap.

"supposedly" year AFTER next. with NIL it could fall apart overnight. or if some do show up they can transfer out after 1st year. so zero guarantees you "keep' a #1 rated class 2 years from now. that far out could be a crap shoot. guess we will see. who knows what happens. big window between now and then.

We sure have a lot of pinch runners that never get to play much. We need to replace some of those girls with some bashers.
By the way, EX LSU K K Madry, another former bench player is now the starting CF for LIBERTY. Looks like she made the right move and found her way into a Super Regional. Since she went to Liberty maybe she is one of those "God is good " types who can play a little softball,

I think most people in tune with LSU softball understand what I meant in the statement above. Technically, they're not a losing program. Oh, they win games! Trouble is, they seem to fizzle out when real competition arrives.
If a racehorse continually finishes 3rd or 4th in every race he participates in..is he a loser? He didn't win the race! He's a winner to a degree, but he'll never win the race. That's LSU softball under Beth Torrino!
