Did anyone hear Miles' interview on SVP around noon on Monday? It was clear something was up. He was out of it...

First of all, no way it was a fix. What one player affected that game? JJ? His body language was not one of indifference. He was trying, he just wasn't getting it done. If the game was fixed, he wouldn't have been blaming Ware and showing visable frustration.

As for Miles, I absolutely hate the "we came out flat" excuse after the game. But I did find Les Miles to be different than normal. I was not at the game so I'm just going by what I saw on tv. That dude is always ultra confident. On his radio show he actually made a comment on the "order restored" statement. However, his pregame interviews were not like Les Miles. His mannerisms on the sideline during the game were not his normal. I commented to my friends that I though he was trying very hard to be relaxed.

As for his demeanor today, I didn't hear it, but I would imagine he is very down. Les Miles reputation was sky high after beating Saban two times in a row and leading this team this year. In just 3 short hours, he is now back to being "clock management Les" or whatever negative name you want to call him. His reputation took a hugh hit Monday night!!!

my first impression of the team when taking the field was that the energy wasn't there. Seemed forced. A few of the guys you expect to be all over the place just weren't the same.

meh, Miles said he was going to try to tone down the players emotions early on. He thought their emotions were what led Arky and UGA to get the lead on us early and that we needed to be more even keel.

BTW, he's a moron. We didn't play well in either game until TM7 brought the emotionally level way up with big plays.

People. the line moved 1 point the day of the game on nearly all betting sites. LSU opened as a 3 point favorite 1.5 months ago which people forget. Money was being thrown on Alabama from the get go

You don't think it was moronic to go into the National Championship game with the plan of having your players be calm and not letting them keep the swagger they've had all year???? It was freakin' stupid. Our players thrived for 13 games off of energy, emotion, and their internal confidence. Miles tried to remove that component because he thought that's why we started off slow against Arky and UGA. It wasn't because JJ couldn't get a first down in those games. it was because our defense was too pumped up. Yeah, Les was real smart on that call.

You're an idiot if you think Miles said "don't play with emotion" as your post implies.

Miles said before the game that he was going to try to keep the players emotions in check. I don't think he said "don't play with emotion." But, he fricked with something that was working all year. Our team has thrived on the emotional roller coaster all season. And, he has gotten them sky high for almost every big game since he's ever been our coach.

Why change that now?

Have you ever even played football? the coach always says to keep emotions in check before big games.. It doesn't matter the players act how they want to act. It was the MNC.. They should have been pumped no matter what the coach says. You're right about one thing.. Miles did screw something up. The offensive gameplan.

Tim Brando also hinted about something that took place in the LSU locker room after the game as well this morning.

Miles was reportedly crying after the game so I bet the players (Seniors) challenged his arse on his bad decisions. I hope that's what happened anyway.

Yes. Supposedly there are a lot of people in the know that believe the game was fixed.

I told a co-worker that one had to wonder if the fix was in as bad as we were, and he said, "no, JJ has always been that bad". How can I argue with that?

but I know it went from LSU -1 to LSU +2-2.5 on a lot of books just before the weekend.

I don't remember seeing a single book have LSU -1 the week leading up to the game.

FTR, Sheridan will be on Finebaum today so tune in if you're interested.

I can't really see a fix using money since the whole team was flat/dejected. It'd have to be some huge story that people were going to break on an LSU win that would've vacated it anyway and they used it as blackmail. But something like that wouldn't have an expiration date, so I can't see the team bowing down to that pressure either.

I think it's much more likely we just got dominated.
