I posted this a couple weeks ago. Adding the Texas A&M game

Against P5 opponents. 3rd & long defined as 3rd & 8+ yards.

FSU
3rd & 12- 18 yard completion
3rd & 13- 10 yard completion
3rd & 8- 13 yard rush
2/3 conversion rate

MSU
3rd & 10- incomplete
3rd & 17- incomplete
3rd & 10- incomplete
3rd & 10- 7 yard completion- punt on 4th down
3rd & 8- sack
3rd & 13- 9 yard rush- converted 4th & 4
3rd & 12- 11 yard completion- penalty on 4th & 1, turnover on downs
3rd & 9- incomplete
3rd & 10- incomplete
0/10 conversion rate

Arkansas
3rd & 9- 14 yard completion
3rd & 16- sack
3rd & 9- 26 yard completion
3rd & 18- roughing the passer
3/4 conversion rate

Ole Miss
3rd & 11- 15 yard TD
3rd & 12- 7 yard completion
3rd & 10- 3 yard loss
3rd & 10- 16 yard completion
3rd & 12- incomplete
3rd & 11- 12 yard completion
3rd & 11- 35 yard completion
4/7 conversion rate

Missouri
3rd & 8- 20 yard completion
3rd & 15- 10 yard completion- converted 4th & 5
3rd & 9- 12 yard rush
3rd & 12- 17 yard completion
3rd & 13- sack
3rd & 10- incomplete
4/6 conversion rate

Auburn
3rd & 8- 12 yard loss
3rd & 8- incomplete
3rd & 23- 6 yard rush
3rd & 10- sack
3rd & 9- 4 yard completion
0/5 conversion rate

Alabama
3rd & 11- 11 yard rush
3rd & 9- 21 yard rush TD
3rd & 10- 18 yard rush
3/3 conversion rate

Florida
3rd & 8- sack/fumble
3rd & 18- 11 yard run
3rd & 13- LSU penalty > 3rd & 8- 18 yard pass
3rd & 11- LSU penalty > 3rd & 6- 4 yard run
3rd & 11- 12 yard pass
3rd & 30- 18 yard pass- converted 4th & 12
3/6 conversion rate, including 4th & 12

Texas A&M
3rd & 12- 13 yard completion
3rd & 11- 16 yard completion
3rd & 9- 10 yard completion
3rd & 8- 7 yard completion(converted 4th & 1)
3rd & 10- sack
3rd & 10- sack
3/6 conversion rate

22/50- 44% total. This is ASTOUNDINGLY bad, like almost hard to fathom. For reference, our 3rd & Long defense against P5 teams would rank 104th in the country by itself and our total 3rd down defense is 119th at 45.2%. We are almost as bad at defending 3rd & Long as we are at defending ALL 3rd downs, including the Grambling, Army and GSU games.

3rd down and red zone are tried and true indicators of solid scheme on either side of the ball. LSU has been really bad in those on defense even last year.

We are 124th in opponents redzone TD%. So yes we suck there too.

wow, without seeing the stats, while sitting in the stadium, I would have guessed at 4-4 or more, over 3rd 8 conversions. It just seemed that a&m made them all until 4th qtr.

TBH, I'm shocked to learn we had even 1 stop on 3rd down all season. It certainly didn't feel that way watching this shite defense.

frick you Matt House!

^ This. And the fact the scheme hasn’t adjusted or improved significantly the past 2 years is reason enough to fire House.

I wasn't sure about that stat myself but under "Passes Intercepted" it shows "Opp Intercepted 10" as opposed to "Passes Had Intercepted" which is the same number JD had intercepted (4).

I think I'm reading it correctly, but I do not remember the individual interceptions either.

Chestnut had one in the FSU game on the play after the muffed punt.

Perkins had one in the Missouri game that flipped the momentum.

Burns had a pick 6 to close the Mizzou game.

I don’t remember the others specifically, but that’s a reasonable number.

Everyone but House knew Milton was running on 3rd down. This one disgusts me.

Are you sure about that? It seemed they made 2 long 3rd down conversions on every drive until the 4th quarter. I remember them making a 3rd and 8, 3rd and 9, and many in the 3rd and 10-13 range

According to the play-by-play, that is it.

There was another 3rd & 9 on that same drive as the 7 yard pass on 3rd & 8, but yeah most of the other conversions he’s thinking of were shorter.
