The idea of artificial turf in the south seems ridiculous - but some are opting for it. Texas just ripped out (and sold to the fans) the grass and replaced with field turf. I can't ever imagine Joe Alleva making that call in TS! It has to be considerably cheaper to maintain but is ultimately fake grass... I hope I never see in Death Valley in my lifetime... Wold you care?

you prefer playing on the crap surface we have now? Field turf would be a huge upgrade and it'd be a smart move by LSU w/ the speed LSU recruits

I would prefer field turf, yes.

#1 It looks better

#2 It plays better

#3 The way we've recruited this decade, who wouldn't want to be playing on turf as much as possible with our team speed

#4 save money on ground crew/fertilizer/money/etc so you can send the band to all away games

I wouldn't mind seeing field turf with the new Mike logo at midfield in place of the tiger eye. I would also put the new Mike logo on the helmet to standardize the brand a little better.

I would certainly prefer field turf to the current conditions, like others have said. But does anybody know why we have so much trouble keeping the field presentable? Does it have to do with the upper decks taking away sunlight? How can a program with so much money have such a shitty field?

You should be taken out back and shot for that comment.

The eye of the tiger is the best midfield logo in sports.

I think that the upper decks have alot to do with it from what i've heard and read on this site. I think the school has obviously spent alot of money getting the drainage right, and want the best possible field, but it's obvious that the natural grass field isn't working. I would love to see field turf in TS.

It's all about branding my friend. That new logo is flat out intimidating. Looks like he is lunging right at you.

I was in the stadium a few weeks ago. Over all it looked good, there were some bad spots, but we were in a pretty long drought. I'd like to see it after all this rain we've been getting.

So the part about the eye was the only thing that you didn't like with his statement??

#5 we could get thru the 2nd quarter without having a most pit for a field.

I love TS, but the field sucks.

Wow - Surprised at how many would want to see that crap in our stadium. Football is meant to be played on GRASS. Always has been and hopefully always will be. The field looks a lot better today than it has in recent years.

I wouldn't mind if they played on grass, but that 100 yards worth of mud and weeds I could do without.
