If you want it to be Valentine-like, then this season because he won't be playing.

He's a 2 yr starter at a Power 5 school as a freshman and sophomore. Kinda like a JUCO transfer, but without the baggage. A top 50-100 player out of high school. How many of those does LSU have on the roster? He couldve went to any school in the SEC and chose LSU. Hes very quick and athletic for his size. He counts against 2017, so hes a free player and an added bonus to an already stud class. Helps with the sting of missing out on Wilson and Mathis. These are the types of moves the coaching staff need to make to win championships. Its a huge get. Im surprised he's not getting more hype.

With age and experience, we're hoping that he stops taking plays off. If he does that, he'll be up there with the best.

Highly ranked coming out of high school, was a 5-star on one of the recruiting sites. Dominated against elite competition at the Opening in Oregon.

His interview this morning will answer your question though.

My older brother ran track @ d2..I played football and did not follow his path, followed my own. Sister played volleyball at USL. Didn't follow her either.

I went where it was best for ME. Go figure, huh

I really hope he does not get bored during the 1st year and beat up somebody up in a night club or rob a store in Tiger town!

It's not easy being a DT in the Big 12. You're talking about a spread pass happy league with teams who don't like to run between the tackles much generally speaking.

4 of the 5 All Big 12 first team defensive line last season were DEs, only 1 DT made it, and he was very good (guy at Ok St).

A few more DTs made 2nd team, one of them being tiny at just 6'2 270. Another DT who made all conference had 30 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss (Fehoko had 19 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss). So, again, not exactly the best conference for DTs to really rack up stats unless you probably play just about every down.

Fehoko certainly has room for improvement. Needs to get more drive/better motor but a lot of that is probably just on coaching and being on such a bad defense it's hard to really care that much. Regardless of what he really did, they were going to give up 40, 50 or 60 points in a game. "Loser mentality" is easy to spread in situations like that. Now certainly not a good excuse for him, but watching his highlights it clearly shows he has some good ability. Being about 6'3 295-ish, he will fit right on on our 3-4 at end. I think he starts opposite of Lawrence in 2018.

So, in a pass happy league, he only generates 2 sacks in two years?

The argument was that he was double teamed and had poor coaching and development? Other than his recruiting hype and the fact that he started for a garbage team.. not much to go on.

His film (to me) says he doesn't finish at the point of attack and lets players bounce off of him only to drag them down by the jersey. SEC backs may not be too kind to him with this approach. However, i am not a talent evaluator, just a Tiger fan.

Not like B12 offenses are taking 7 step drops, baw. Ball is out almost immediately in an air raid attack.

And yet I'd be willing to bet that you'd be on here bitching about Jenkins and O if he chose Auburn or UGA.

He won't be an anything next year because he has to sit out a year after the transfer.

Big 12 is lousy with air raid offenses. Bad news for interior d linemen.

That's why he is here.

ETA: that means a ton of shotgun, short reads, very quick passes, and almost no power running.

Can't really build a resume as a DT facing that every week.

That does not excite me in the least. Tech's defense has been historically bad the last two years.

Now that is something more tangible, and probably the reality. He provides depth and that is always good on the DL cause those guys get tired fast and once they are the are no good the rest of the game really.

It really doesn't matter what conference the young man played in or what type of defense. He's adding depth to our defensive line. You can never have too many big bodies in the SEC. Glad he chose the RIGHT school for him. Can't wait for the future man
