Are you just going to pretend like there was not a large number of idiots who insisted that they had studied JD5 for 4 years as a QB and “he is what he is and couldn’t possibly improve in his second year in this offense”.

he had a gazillion starts coming into last season and he certainly appeared to have plateaued, tuck and running in a panic, not going through progressions and overlooking wide open receivers, wouldn't throw deep, and when he did was often grossly off the mark, inconsistent, he's having a stellar year, unfortunately when we're seeing the worst defense LSU has ever fielded, but don't try to rewrite history

I put too much effort into trying to persuade posters he was a good QB. I was even posting some of his Arizona St. film. Some of those threads were crazy.

Lane-arse thing to proclaim. I never bad-mouthed him either but he did have trouble being too conservative and not letting it fly last yr. Even his coach said that.

Jayden Daniels day ones are insufferable. Why are you so insecure and need validation?

Do we need to sully his meteoric rise with these threads?

I never hated Daniels I just doubted his ability to go deep. To his credit he has made himself into a great QB and should be a high draft pick. He's one we'll never forget.

And none of that means a QB can’t improve in his second year in a system. Which was posted over and over by armchair QB experts.

he did, and I, and everyone else acknowledges it, after four years as a starter at the end of last year he appeared to have plateaued, and to be just a mediocre qb that could run, beating a dead horse here

He had 400 yards against FSU and y’all wanted to bench him after that game. Shut the frick up.

Is it also ok to admit that you said he would never get better and had reached his ceiling or do we just gloss over that fact?

It’s not rewriting history to call people out for being wrong. You said he’d never get better. He did. And now you’re upset you’re being called on it.

For the same reason you felt the need to trash him after games.

That’s the whole point of this thread, to rub it in their faces. It wasn’t just doubt, they hated him and probably still do.

I was of the opinion that he'd plateaued, but I don't live and die by what happens in TS on Saturday's, don't recall specifically saying he'd never get better, just thought if what he looked like last year after as many starts as he'd had was, he was as good as he was going to be

and now you're just making things up in your head

I'm glad for him that he's having a great year, it's still a bad year for the team, but I don't lose sleep over any of this

Wanna take a guess on how many OCs he's had?

Only to people who didn’t want him at QB in the first place.

He improved throughout last season. As the season went on, he became more patient in the pocket and started keeping his eyes downfield. Was he inconsistent? Sure. Did he have a couple of rough games? Obviously. Progress is very rarely linear.

But if you watched the first half of the UGA game last year and thought he was the same QB that we had seen against FSU in the 2022 opener, I don’t know what to tell you. You’re just wrong.
