How can you possibly gauge Hampton’s work ethic?????

Because everything Paul has said about the kid comes down to Hampton going above and beyond to get ready for baseball

You're not shutting anybody up. You just make them puke in their mouth so they can't talk for a while.

We see a lefty on the mound for LSU...
Freshman lefty Jacob Hasty pitched in the scrimmage today and hit 90 mph several times.

Hasty supposedly has a wicked curveball. They say he just needs a little more consistency with the fastball to set it up. He could be a very good pitcher for us.

Well hell, he just went seven months with football, give the damn kid to adjust to sec baseball. It’s not that often you get premier athlete in both, work with him!!

Someone is crumpy today. Calm down chief. We are all excited to have him on the team. I personally think the expectations are too high for him but I would love to be wrong

We will see more complaints on the Rant about no chair back seats in the outfield.

You left out the incessant freaking out about ads on the wall and scoreboard.

My bad guys, I’m just hoping both coaching staffs allow him the opportunity to excel in each and not pull him back and forth .

Now that you mention it. It will be interesting to see if he participates with Spring football or keeps working on that swing.

Mainieri has already said Mo will participate in Spring practice with the football team. I guess that could change but he is on a football scholarship.

Im concerned about our hitting, not consistent enough, we should be winning more at bats if we are going to be great. In time I suppose, enough with scrimmages and let’s start the season!!

How do we know this until we see the new hitting coach and philosophy in action?

I'm not worried about our hitting. Interestingly Mainieri is actually sacrificing defense for hitting, Bianco, Dugas, Beloso, Garza. That is contradictory to his usual philosophy. We will see how that works out. It is defense that will actually be a little below the LSU standard. But I like it, I like it a lot.

At this point I’m not worried about it either. It appears as though the hitters are starting to grasp and incorporate the new philosophy more by focusing on the pitch they want, laying off others, and trying to draw walks if you can’t get the look you want.

But if anyone is thinking they are going to start the season on a tear and just rake, will likely be disappointed and will come here to run their mouths about it.

I certainly hope the bats start hot and stay hot. But I think it is going to take our pitching to carry this team for a while until the bats can catch up. And that is okay; because we have the pitching staff to do it.

I think Gio hits over .315 and holds onto CF all year.

Garza hangs onto the C spot bc our pitching is already so good and we need bats so Milazzo doesnt get a ton of PT.

Doughty out performs Travinski at DH.

Fontenot and Hill each record 6+ saves.

Beloso and Garza combine for 23 dingers

Storz gets a base hit

It wouldn't surprise me with Gio. All the things I don't like about him are fixable. If he gets them fixed you will be spot on.
Cade can certainly rake but I'm really think Travinski is going to put some fear in opposing pitchers.
