my favorite is the BCS because it determines the real national champion. (2003) I also like the Coaches poll because it is the most fair, but I hate the AP poll, because it is just to make mess

BCS counts and contains a number of perspectives. Could be improved, but it's the best out there. The Coaches Poll is absolute crap. Conflict of interest, game playing abounds. Coaches should be the most expert judges, but active coaches don't know shite beyond their own opponents and are the worst voters. Should be called the sports information directors poll anyway.

If you really study the AP poll without the silly, immature emotion most have about it, it's actually pretty good. Way better than the coaches. The only thing that makes the coaches tolerable is that over time they won't let their poll get too out of whack with the AP.

2004 Auburn would disagree...

I prefer the BCS but it is perplexing....

On the one the voting aspect of the poll gets the emphasis but as in the case of last year... Alabama got the votes to get into the game but nobody showed up a the party that they voted on...

Silly voters...

Understand. 12 years ago and things are a little different now.

I wish all polls would go away! I have the crazy crazy belief that football should be handled like the NFL does and not allow people to vote on anything!

I was alluding to the fact that outside of the SEC, the viewership of this game was very low..

Polls are for the politicians - more of a beauty pageant than anything else. The only poll that means anything is the last one. Results trump opinions.

Hey Dubaitiger, I am going to be in Dubai in October. I am leaving New Orleans on the 5th of October & hopefully will be in Dubai in time for Florida game. I hear you throw a real Tiger Tailgait party. I live in Metairie but born & raised on Bayou Lafourche, I do know how to cook great coonass food! :-). Shoot me an email at rgiscl@dcc.edu

Coaches poll isn't really that fair when say someone like Saban can vote another team way low and end up screwing them out of a title so he can go instead.

No that didn't happen, but the possibility is there.

BCS...it at least tries to take out the "west Coast" biased attitude.. at the the math in it sort of does.
