Washington has the ball 3rd and 1 at their own 29.Handoff to the running back off right tackle he crosses the 30 and cracked down at the 35. Wait the referees are signaling first down I dont understand why they arent bringing the sticks out for a measurement the ball is sitting right on the 35 they need to measure that.

Yeah, that was common, and is common among a lot of announcers. Sometimes you misjudge the flight of the ball.
These people saying that he did that on infield popups are making that up.
