Fall scrimmages end with the Purple and Gold World Series, which is usually around the first weekend of November.

I think fall scrimmages end the second week of November.

Scuba, Romero didn't catch yesterday and I didn't see him in the dugout. Of course, maybe I missed him. Do you know if he's injured?

Like to see the young guys hitting
They will push some vets for playing time which will make the offense much better than last year

From what I can tell from Scuba's reports, Romero's been DHing most days with Coomes catching for whatever team Pap isn't on.

My personal speculation is that they already are comfortable with Romero behind the plate so A) they want to get Coomes some work back there as another back up plan and B) they want to get Romero more comfortable in a DH role to make sure they're getting his bat in the lineup more than just when he's catching.

He's said in the past that he's not as comfortable in the DH role, so that's where my speculation is rooted.

Romero didn't play Tuesday. I assume he is still dealing with a sore shoulder but he has been D/Hing in prior scrimmages.

Kramer is better than 2K's.
I hope fans don't sleep on him this season.

Was Breaux's homer an inside-the-park HR?

No, his HR went about 2 rows up in the right field bleachers.

Slaughter's HR went about 8 rows up in the left field bleachers.

I don't think you understood my point if this is your response.

They are comfortable in that they know what they're getting out of him there defensively and that he's the guy behind Pap there.

They also know what they're getting in Pap, but his defense is his strength, so if he's not behind the plate, he's not in the lineup, so no reason to DH him in practice.

There is a reason to get Romero comfortable in the DH spot.

That's crazy. So now he's going to have people throwing baseball's at our players heads in every sport?
