please spare me this mickey mouse bullshite. LSU fans are the best fans in the country. If you pay for a ticket to the game, you can leave whenever the f*** you want. Fans all over the country leave when their team is getting smashed.

College football isn't fricking pee wee. they are big boys and can handle it.

Clearly you weren't paying attention. It was not that quick. We were going nuts after that fumble return TD and the potential 3 and out for Miss State was the loudest I've heard Tiger Stadium (my first game this year). The big TD kind of let the air out of our sails, but we had them at 3rd down again, and again another huge TD puts them up 21. Some people started to get up at this point, but there was so much time left It was easily more than 90% of the fans still there when we pinned them at the 1 yard line. It was only until AFTER that and a few first downs later did people begin to flood out. Most were still holding out hope a stop or safety there would turn things around. It wasn't a nice site on television I'm sure, but let's not pretend the fans didn't wait until every last REALISTIC chance seemed long gone. The fact that it was "close" at the end is purely a fluke, a case of the Moo State Curse almost rearing its ugly head for the 15ht year in a row.

LSU is 98-25 over the past decade, 44-9 over the past 4 seasons, all of which had at least 10 wins, with 2 SEC titles and 1 NC, and they did that in the conference that won 7 straight BCS titles.

and the rant has been like this the entire time. they're not whining about a losing program, they're whining about a winning one. they're not "fair weather", they're just miserable dicks.

No. No, no, no.

A fair weather fan was the biggest LSU fan in the world. . .3 years ago, until 1/9/12. Then they were the biggest Bama fans in the world for 2 years. Right now, they're the biggest Florida St. fans in the world.

Being angry about getting destroyed at home and complaining about glaring, very real issues does not make one a fair weather fan.

I was just coming to post this. When the day comes that no one is bitching about shite on the rant then you can talk about fair-weather fans.

This has been true for as long as I've been a Tiger Fan (which is about 55 years). I've come to accept that it's just part of our DNA. Love it, hate it, whatever, it's LSU Football...deal with it.

I hate CLM when we win. I really hate him when he loses. I hated it from when they hired him. I was a fan before him and will be one after he is gone. F*** CLM

Of course people will bash the OP because it's the cool thing to do on the Rant. I agree with everything you said.

It was not that bad but by 10 min to go in the 4th there was barely 15K and by 5 min to go <10K. What amazed me was on the last drive how loud 10K people can be in TS...

I was there, but do not share your optimism. I stayed albeit being incredibly frustrated due to the belief that we would somehow pull off a close home victory to an inferior opponent like we normally do. It appears that era has come to an end, however.

A mark is someone who deals out more and more money under the guise of support. First they say you need to buy the right to buy tickets in order to keep LSU among the top in facilities and coaching. People buy. Then they say you are placed in priority by how much money you give to TAF. People buy. Then they say the first home game is in another city, but isn't really a home game. People buy. Then they trot out a schedule that includes maybe two real football games a year, raise parking fees, add new fees, and tell fans it's to support the program and maintain a championship quality team every year.
Then they get overplayed by a Big 10 and luck out a win. Look mediocre against a couple of FCS schools, and then lay an egg against a cellar dweller in conference squad who is stocked with Louisiana kids that weren't recruited by LSU because LSU was off in Georgia getting a QB, Illinois getting a Center, and checking their star count.
So in the midst of an embarrassing loss these marks uhhh I mean fans leave and are branded fair weather for not supporting their team. If that's your logic well I'm fair weather. You stayed and saw some interesting football indeed by a guy who should of been playing anyway and wondering how many other personnel foulups the fan must endure.

So you are a fair weather fan unless you praise the team all the time?

It is a fine line, though. Tennessee got rid of Fulmer and has suffered ever since, but Texas kept their great coach too long and let the program slip into mediocrity.

Tennessee held on to Fulmer too long first off all. Secondly, Tennessee is a program at a significant disadvantage compared to many of its competitors seeing as there is nowhere near the talent in Tennessee that you have in Louisiana, Mississippi, Bama, Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

UT is a better example. 2009 they were in the title game for a second time like Miles, and lost. Followed it up with mediocre seasons and one bad season: 5-7, 8-5, 9-4, 8-5.

Mack is the closest thing you'll get to a comparison for Miles except for that Mack built that UT program while Miles inherited one that was already in its peak.

LSU should not have lost to Tennessee when leading by 3 scores at halftime (2005)

LSU should not have to comeback and rally for 28 points to beat Troy (2008)

LSU should not have lost to Ole Miss in the infamous 2009 "clock it" game.

Also, we should have beaten Penn State and Clemson in those bowl games.

Too much talent on the sidelines and in this state to have those inexcusable losses.
