Plus look at it this way... The SEC will have already had their special SEC champ game and that game is being played in Atlanta. It is very unfair for the SEC to be able to extend anther round of their internal SEC regular season for the whole rest of the country to be forced to watch...plus robbing all others at having that entry into the big dance

So we agree about LSU-Houston?

I totally agree with the OP. Houston is clearly the only deserving team. The whole nation wants to see it.

Sarcasm aside, I really hope this happens.

...only since Houston would get absolutely demolished.

I don't know, it could be boring to watch after LSU goes up several touchdowns on them before halftime.

Totally. Be competitive or STFU.

I feel bad for LSU fans having this great year and title game and the whole country will not tune in to watch it. The known nation outside the SEC considers 9-6 a boring snooze-fest. Plus no one wants to see SEC vs SEC outside the SEC.

You're absolutely correct about this, despite what many here in the Southeast would like to believe. The LSU-'Bama game on Nov. 5 received good ratings. The second time around . . . not so much.

Field a competitive team or stop bitching. I don't care for a rematch but there isn't another team that can match up with LSU or Bama.

They could douse Erin Andrews with confetti during a timeout.

The bloggers will, too. They would be waiting for anything they could latch onto to prove Houston deserved a shot.

It's not like we have any choice in the matter. We beat Georgia and we go to the BCSNC--we play whoever else the BCS chooses for us.

Personally, I'd like a shot at Okie State to show them what defense is and what it means to be defenseless. On the other hand, I'd also like to smack Saban's arse again; Gump meltdown would be enough entertainment to last until kickoff 2012.

The OP Reminds me of one of those "fairness" people who want the system to make things "right" instead of competing. The SEC is too strong, and it's not fair so they bitch to make things equal, instead of trying to be competitive.

Most of us would rather play someone else besides Oregon or Bama, simply because we have played them already. But you can't make an argument that LSU and Bama are not the two best teams this year, by a large margin.

Oh good Lord. It would be different if anyone thought anyone else could beat either of the teams. As it is, your team is in the PAC 12 championship and not even the best team. I'm sure UCLA with their 6 losses will prove to be a nail biter in the Pac 12 championship. Stanford sends their regards.

Perhaps on BleacherReport, your pundits think otherwise, but most reasonable people understand that this is an unusual year, and it's not unreasonable to expect a rematch. Many who thought otherwise now realize it's as idiotic to try to prove anything differently.

One of many

When people from other parts of the country start threads like this, they look ignorant and reveal that they are as full of as many assumptions and bias as anyone.

If the BCS were something other than #1 vs #2, you'd have an argument. As it is, it's not.

Stopped reading here. What do you expect him to do? Back down? You act as if he is lobbying for the rematch when all he did was basically say "bring it on".

But way to spin shite like you left wing nuts are so famous for doing.

there has been a lot of discussion regarding "best" vs. "deserving" and the actual mission of the bcs. interesting discussion, imo. there is a valid argument against a rematch.

I don't mind a rematch with Bama because I think they are the second beat team this year....but I think it is disrespectful to LSU and every other conference.

Of course, it is all about Alabama. They lost. Is it fair they get another crack at the #1 team and every conference champion goes ignored?

I could definately see how a conference championship should be a prerequisite to the BCSNC game.

What did you expect him to say? He had to answer yes.

In defense of OK St. I think it is more about who you beat not who you lose two when separating equal records.
the only "really good team" alabama beat all year was the razobacks... and they got the f7ck beat out of them by two "great teams" they played.. so how good are they.

i think beating oklahoma and winning your division would be a more impressive resumé.. when asking who deserves a shot at the NUmber 1 team and alabama already had theirs at home and lost.

this situation reminds me a lot of 07. there is a clear #1 (at that time it was Ohio st) and then a bunch of teams Tied for second.
so in pursuit of the irrelevant "fair" you gotta ask who of the #2s deserves a shot, right?
