Wow. Just wow.

The whole country doesn't have to watch. But I bet they do. Just like they watched it the first time.

I can understand the frustration but really -- corrupt? How could this be corrupt? You think the SEC fixed this thing? If only they could.

As an aside, I will say that part of the reason we're here is that we did play Oregon first and we kicked their duck a . . . not going there. Playing a high ranking team certainly helped our SOS but, more importantly and as has already been pointed out on this blog, the level of preparation required for that game saw us through.

So thanks Ducks.

P.S. If you wouldn't have lost to USC, would you be thinking that a rematch with Oregon would be OK? And the difference would be . . . ?

Yet bama is owning the number 2 spot in the polls. Apparently people with a vote don't seem to mind. But yeah I'm sure pac 12 bloggers are super pissed. But who really cares?

Miles never said that 2 teams in the same conference could not be #1 and #2.

He was referring to a single team from a given conference getting into the title game. That team should be the conference champ.

When the top 2 teams are in the same conference, it is impossible for both to be Conference champs.

What would you propose.... leaving the #2 team home and putting a lower ranked team in the title game? That would be idiotic.

If enough voters think like you, you'll get your wish, 'cause Bama won't get the #2 ranking.

Let the BCS system determine who #2 is, and just play the game, regardless of where #2 comes from.

I agree with your sentiment but the fact is that nobody else has made a compelling case. Bama, like LSU, has blown everyone out of the stadium except for LSU. No other team can say that.

The real problem here is that the season isn't long enough to allow top teams to play each other more. I'd love to have a soccer-style promotion/relegation system but that'll never happen, and given that players only stay for 4-5 years it might not be that great an idea anyway. Until it does though, there is no way to be fair to everyone who might have a claim, the season just isn't long enough for all the one loss teams to play it out.

Imagine for a moment Oregon and Stanford being voted to play for the title. How would you all feel if that occurred? Well that is how the nation feels

Uh, not according to the human polls. The AP, for example, had Bama getting #2 votes from every pollster. At this point what gives OSU a chance is the computers, not the humans.

Recently Les Miles has changed tunes and become a hypocrite in saying he would welcome facing Bama again for the title in a rematch. He has lost a lot of respect from many who remember him saying that maxim but now being a hypocrite..

This is a very unfair and naive characterization of Miles' comments. He can't go around giving the impression that he is afraid of playing Bama again, and that's how campaigning against them would be perceived even if it were based on principle.

My view is that the rematch shouldn't happen as long as their is a reasonable alternative. If OSU beats OK, they should get the shot. It's hard to make a case for VTech given the overall weakness of their sched. PAC and B1G guys are out.

(this has nothing to do with Oregon retards,,, we lost twice and were easily out of it...This is not about my team at all but about CFB in general...)

If Coach Miles really stood by his principles then he would of said after the Bama game, "To the Media, you all know how I feel about non Conference champions getting playing for the Title as I spoke out about it in 2007. We beat Bama today and we beat Bama last year and we are going to beat Bama next year. But it would be corrupt to the nation to see Bama wiggle its way into a title game vs us. We already beat them today and proved we are better. NEXT....

But Les Miles did not say that. As far as his old Maxim, he seems to of forgot he said it. And I am calling him out as a hypocrite for it.

Regardless, I really myself hope it is Bama-LSU for Title, as I hope it will blow up the corrupt BCS and from what I am hearing, there is much anger about a SEC vs SEC title game....

Have a good evening...

I see the man's point. Alabama had their shot. If osu or vt win their conference they should have a shot.

if there were an 8 team playoff, the end result would be LSU vs Bama in the title game.

i don't see what the big deal is.

Exactly, we did our jobs. Not our fault that Oregon forgot how to call timeout.

Id rather play another team besides alabama.
I can see where people outside the sec would think this way.
Another reason we need a playoff.
