so in pursuit of the irrelevant "fair" you gotta ask who of the #2s deserves a shot, right?

That's what I keep arguing. Others, for some reason, think the only purpose of the BCS is to somehow figure out the two "best" teams to play each other. Those people are incorrect. That's nowhere in the BCS mission statement.

LSU fans are not estatic over having to play a team we beat on their home field. A game that we took advantage of enough opportunities we had to win in overtime in front of a loud exuberant crowd. A game whereby our coach out coached their coach. A game that our players played with all their hearts, minds, and souls.

Now, because no other teams have proved themselves worthy of the opportunity in the minds of the voters they deserve a chance to play for the BCSNC in place of Alabama, we will play them again.

I for one wanted some team to step up and prove itself were worthy to play for all the marbles. To date no other team has stepped to the plate and established themselves as worthy oppenents.

I do not blame Alabama or the SEC for this----I blame the other teams for not producing on the field. If there was any other alternative, we would not be playing the TIDE.

The losses and play of the rest of college football placed Bama in this position.

With this being said, I would be honored to play a fine team like Bama for the BCSNC.

I wonder if you would sing a different tune if it were, lets say, Oregon and USC instead of two SEC teams? Me thinks you would be a bit of a hypocrite and scream from the mountain top how all is well in college football.

Go away, you truly sound like an uninformed ignoramus!

You lost to LSU, PLEASE get over it!!

That has absolutely nothing to do with his argument. His argument is pretty strong. Watch what happens with tv ratings if it's LSU-'Bama.

Exactly. The BCS is to find out in the end who is #1. We know Bama is not, as LSU already beat them...

He could make that argument without making baseless attacks on Miles.

ETA: it is very close to flaming and he knows it.

Stop posting please. Bama and LSU are the two best teams in the country. Maybe if the rest of the country had better teams this would not be a problem. You got thumped by us and your kicker chocked and shanked his kick to comeback against USC. Deal with it there aren't any teams outside of LSU and Bama that deserve a shot.

Cmon guys. LSU and Bama should step aside and let two other teams play for the MNC. Its only fair. And they should not keep score so everybody can be equal champions. And after the game we can all hug and have a frickin gay fest.

Hey cry baby--let me ask you this.

Is it fair that it took almost twenty years for the PAC whatever and the Big 10 to catch up to the SEC and start playing a championship game to determine the conference champs instead of just sitting around resting while teams around the country beat up on each other?

Is it fair that LSU has to play a 10-2 Georgia team that's on a 10 game winning streak in the SECCG while Oregon gets to play a 6-6 UCLA team that was just blown out 50-0 in your first ever Pac 12 championship game?

In other words, is it fair that the competition in the Pac whatever annually sucks and yet teams like Oregon still can't seal the deal?

Is that fair?

BTW, which of those two conference championship games do you think most of the country will tune in to see?

It's Isn't fair to LSU or the other conferences but ESPN has an agenda. They saw the ratings of the Nov 5 game and want a piece of the action. I realized this to be true when during the Stanford game Musberger tried to bring up the unfairness of it all and Herbie quickly changed the subject.

What you SEC Kool-aid drinkers do not understand is that the country knows the SEC gets much preseason Bias in rankings. Every freaking year. It is not just you, it is also Okie and Texas regardless what type of team they are fielding that year.

Anyways, And the SEC gets TONS of bias when they lose. They hardly drop in the polls. See Arky just now as a example and see Bama when they lost to LSU. But Oregon, we dropped from 3rd to like 14th or something. Bama dropped a stop or such. And well, all of you say, these are the two teams ranked #1 and #2, but what you all do not get is, there is TONS of bias to get those VOTES for those Rankings. So do NOT pretend that anything is really earned. Those are all just popularity contest VOTES!

God damn, I hate that word. EVERYTHING has to be a conspiracy.

Most likely this won't produce the same ratings as a matchup of LSU with someone they haven't played already, so I doubt this is the case.

Jesus Christ.......

What the frick is wrong with you? No seriously. What. The. frick.

You honestly expect him to do that? You honestly think him disrespecting Alabama and giving them bulletin board material and making things tougher on his own team is the classy thing?

You need to learn what the frick class is.

The Point is taken, and I believe it's true. Instead of playing Georgia, we should play BAMA in our SEC Championship - not another regular season game that has already been played. We have to beat them twice to earn the crystal and they can loose at home and maybe win in N.O. and call themselves #1, when we have been #1 all year long. STUPID - IT REALLY IS JUST STUPID (SEC vs SEC) really excited everyone in the other 48 states.
