wow, at last a voice of reason.
these fricking idiots on this board want to fire everybody. they don't care about facts; they just want to win a football game. they are an example of what has held the state of Louisiana back for the last 50 years. it's called ignorance.
Drink your buttermilk and go back to sleep, you old frick.

Not sure quite yet what F King has done for LSU. I am not for firing everyone. I think F King has mishandled a lot of things as the face of the university. Much more important things than football. However football is important to the academic side of the equation. We get a good bit of money from the athletic department and Emmert said it best. Athletics are great opportunities to promote the University and its message . You can't argue what Emmert was doing at LSU was exceptional. Again I don't want everyone fired. My point is I am not sure F King is the guy based on his handing of things. But if someone can tell me what he has done for the University I will definitely listen. Enrollment is down. What other peer university enrollment is down ?

Enrollment is down at every LA school BUT LSU from what I read.

I love facts! They're my favorite! List the top 3 things F. King has done for this university. I'll eagerly await your response, and can't wait for the end to my ignorance on the topic of the great Czar F. King Alexander. But, please hurry up, I don't want you to miss your bedtime.

quote:Yes, look what happened when the LSUAD was bombarded from all over the country in regards to the "Visiting Band not being allowed to perform at Halftime" lunacy. That situation changed real quick because of the massive public outcry.............
People need to make themselves heard. These emails, from only a few people will go mostly unrealized. These emails from a couple hundred or a couple thousand people will be heard.

Seems as if he already fell asleep. Or he's wearing out Google trying to find at least one positive thing King has done.

You are in the minority about F. King doing great things. Alike it's people like you who want to stick their head in the sand. A president does not publicly embarrass their university by publicly interjecting politics into an equation that has nothing to do with the athletic program. The athletic program does more for the university as opposed to the stupid jackass currently occupying the seat as president.

Exactly. He's pretty out of touch, yet he calls us ignorant.

Wow..... I hate this fan base. A bunch of spoiled jerks who think LSU should win every game ....

Baton Rouge Business report
Enrollment at LSU’s flagship campus in Baton Rouge is down significantly this year over last, with nearly 13% fewer undergraduate students registered for the fall semester.
So far, some 27,000 undergraduate students have registered and paid for fall classes, 4,000 fewer than the 31,000 registered in the fall of 2015. LINK

It is not just a football game. It's naive to try and trivialize the single biggest gravitating factor to LSU.
As sad as it may be, academics is bullshite and LSU is waaaayyyyy behind quite a few SEC peers.....don't make me bring up Texas schools.
fricking mishandled the situation last season.

Peej, it goes way beyond simply losing a football game. This is a multi multi-million dollar business that even the academic side relies on.
If you don't understand big time football economics, I'd be quiet.

Yeah, it's easy to say "Enrollment is down", but that's just from last year.
Last year was the highest enrollment in LSU's history. Which happened under King, by the way.
So yes, we didn't re-break the enrollment record. Fire King.

LSU sells itself......if you think he gets credit for the State's flagship interest, you are seriously drinking Koolaid and likely know him personally.
LSU football is bigger than Alexander. Is what it is.
Besides, he is negatively impacting LSUs reputation by his own hand.

These fans - who actually put the LSU logo by their name have every damn right to criticize Les Miles. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. It's not just about winning or losing, go crawl back into the dumpster you crawled out of.

Just so we're on the same page. LSU has a 1.1 BILLION dollar operating budget. The athletic department typically contributes between 8-12 million back to the academic side. The AD budget is typically around 100-150M (I haven't checked recently).
When you take that into perspective, firing King because LSU loses a football game is like firing a Fortune 500 CEO because the company's janitor forgot to clean the toilets.

F. King stopped the firing of Les Miles. He also embarrassed the entire state by making it look like we were one step away from cancelling football and closing the campus.

Enrollment is down . Pretty amazing ??
LSU has publicly stated it desires enrollment to be decreased slightly and focus on recruiting higher quality students.
I'm not a Dr. Alexander champion or hater. I realize he's been put into some difficult situations but despite the end result being satisfactory, he did not go about obtaining the result in the best fashion.
