When you don't hear too much news about your AD, that means he/she is doing a good job. Look at all those negative news feed Alleva was getting before getting replaced.

The primary reason Joe Alleva wasn't forced into hiring Jimbo Fisher was budget issues at LSU. Had monies been flowing, this stain would be on Alleva as well, even if I think Fisher would have accepted less of a deal at LSU than Texas A&M. Alleva was only "successful" in not hiring Fisher is because there was an out.

This is another example of how Alleva chooses to publicly state twisted logic.

If he can keep Brady and Aranda there’ll be plenty of tiger fans hailing him.

Disappointing that Alleva lasted so long at LSU after the facts came out.

The reason they don’t like Alleva is because he did what was right regarding Will Wade situation. The rant doesn’t care about the university academically or ethically, they only worry about winning. Bc if Ww was losing and the same Bc situation had happened, they would have been raising hell to get Will wade fired.

Woodward knew he was coming to LSU, so that is why he stuck A&M with that Jumbo Fisher contract

They are valid questions, but this board craps on anyone that doesn't accept the majority opinion.

The guy hired Wade and Orgeron. Sounds like he's been pretty successful.

So you want to give him credit for hiring at best his third choice based on how the process went down after failing to land his top options and hiring a guy he said is his biggest regret?

Oh yea, what a success story Joe Alleva is

$75 million.

Gauranteed.

Top brass at aggy wanted Jimbo and didn't care about money. This was Jimbo's number and it's been heavily rumored he wanted similar from LSU. Woodward made it happen.

Not sure what else you're trying to get at here.

Why alleva sucks: Shitty at navigating issues. Example: Les firing, not firing, then firing. Example: the Florida hurricane fiasco where we played two straight games away Example: will wade ordeal Example: duke rape fiasco Example: compliance restrictions and behind the scenes athletic support (Woodward excels here) Joe was also a huge prick. Stand offish and arrogant. Worked with him several times. Woodward is approachable and very friendly

Thanks for this response. The silly questions from the alleva guys seem to have stopped.

The big thing to me so far is that he was instrumental in bringing in Joe Brady. It is not so much Joe Brady, but the change that seems to implicate anew commitment to excellence.

The numbers will tell the tale. A 10th ranked program brings in less dollars than a 1 or 2. We may see record income after this season's success.

And as far as overspending for Jimbo, does anybody think he was not pressured from above to sign him, no matter the cost? This would mean it was not his fault.

Bc he gets the athletic department on the same page in every way. He facilitates the operation in a seamless manner.

He’s a leader. He’s a fund raiser.

He doesn’t pass on who he wants to hire Bc he’s too cheap to pay what the candidate is asking as Alleva has done. Alleva admitting that he did just that should tell you all you need to know.

He’s got a track record of running very successful athletic departments without scandal and embarrassment.

He doesn’t embarrass the university.

He doesn’t throw coaches under the bus.

Should I continue? Because I will...

Yea the idiots criticizing Woodward are clinging to the Jimbo contract. That story is yet to be written but they’re clinging too it while ignoring years of incompetence by Alleva
