My thoughts exactly before the show started. I wanted to be in any regional NOT opposite the top 4 SEC teams. Not scared of them but most of those Supers would be 50/50 and away. I think NC and AZ odds are better all things considered.

If it's DBU that comes out of that regional then they may well have a case to host over LSU. They are arguably a better 2 seed than LSU and will probably have put a bid to host just as we have. So its not a foregone conclusion that we host anyone outside of Arizona.

And the point you were making only took half of the equation into account. We faced better offenses this week and OUR pitching easily held their own.

Difference is we aren’t going to be fortunate enough to play teams mid week arms at a neutral site.
This is going to be a dog fight, LSU can win, but it’s probably going to be a tougher road that what was just faced in the SECT.

100% agree. But our pitching hasn’t been as much of a problem this year as people make it out to be. Consistently scoring runs has been a major problem for us. Again, think we can win the regional and what we did in Hoover was very impressive. But saying playing North Carolina this weekend “isn’t any tougher” than what we faced this past week just isn’t true.

It’s really simple. You win game 1 with Jump and you move on to game 2 with most likely UNC. Almost a “must win” with Holman on the mound. LSU doesn’t have the bullpen to get into a losers bracket and have to win 3 more games.
