I wasn’t gonna make a thread about one transfer, but this guys highlights remind me of a bigger honey badger.
Obviously that’s a tough name to live up to, but it’s a very good comp for him , I believe.

Everything from him screams LSU, his last name, wearing the number 7 at Arkansas and the swagger he plays with just seems like the perfect fit.

Don’t jump all over me for comparing his play style to TM, I’m just saying he reminds me of him in many ways . He’s not as quick but he’s bigger. They both celebrate the same way too lol

This guy has to be a starting saftey.
Some may not have seen his highlights so I’ll post this video.

Please don’t make comparisons to Honey Badger. Honey Badger is very unique and the most instinctual player I’ve ever seen play defense in college football. He was one of the biggest difference makers on defense in college football ever.

I guess I didn’t quite get the message across about how it’s just a style of play thing . I only wrote two paragraphs about it lol

Glad he is here

He’s built similar to Patrick Peterson . That shows how massive Patrick p was for a corner.

Pp could have played saftey I’m sure. People don’t realize how big he was.

The only thing about joe f that I would wonder about is his speed.
He’s a damn good zone type defender which is required for a saftey but he seems like he would be a good zone corner if he was faster . I loved all the ints where he just got in the zone he needed to be in and made a play

The thing about the highlight videos is , they don’t show you if the guys getting burned a lot. It doesn’t give you the ability to see if he’s fast enough to track the ball sideline to sideline ,or close to it anyway .

I’ll post some of the other transfers highlight videos itt if anyone is interested in watching and discussing. We don’t do enough of that type stuff on here

TMs size has nothing to do with his unique abilities. TMs physical gifts are exceptional but it's his anticipation of the play and the 'in the moment' ball skills that separate him from any other player. It's like the world moves in slow motion for him in that split second of the ball strip or being one step ahead of the receiver to the spot for the ball.

That is the only way a man 5'9" plays safety in the NFL. So no, this guy isn't even close to a TM. Lightyears difference in football IQ, lightyears

Here is a terrible video ,but it at least shows you that kyren Lacey is a big possession type receiver even as a freshman.

This is his freshman highlight video. It’s all I could find and it’s so badly put together that I almost didn’t post it, but like I said, it shows you the body type he had as a freshman , I’m sure he’s even bigger and stronger now

Check this out, mekhi wingo is our new dt from mizzou . What an athlete he is, this is a 40 yard pick six by a big arse tackle lol

Thoughts = BOTH Foucha and Brooks are going to be on the field making plays for LSU this season. Superb adds.

Care to elaborate? Because to be honest it sounds like when people think players are similar because they wear the same number. Or when white receivers are compared to Wes Welker.

Great instincts, plays with passion, has a swagger to him, a saftey that’s capable of playing man, even press man, both do the exact same arms folded move to celebrate a big play, both have the same jersey number, great in zone even while playing corner, great at timing his blitzes.

He’s just always around the ball, you don’t teach that really. You can teach them to read their keys and that usually puts you around the ball, but it goes beyond that for certain players. Players like Matthieu play off of instincts and his seem to be similar in that regard

At first I thought he looked like Patrick just by looks, but then the play style makes me think tyrann.

I’m not gonna start a thread like that because they wear the same number cmon man .

I agree, that’s why I said style of play , not talent or performance. Just a guy that has a nose for the ball among other things

Obviously players football iq grows over years , but even at lsu tyran had a great football iq.

Lol good point, but does he not look like an LSU db just by the swagger?
Pretty sure he’s from Louisiana, right? If so , you can pick them guys out from a mile away.

Louisiana kids just have a different look to them , throw in the last name and number 7 and you gotta say he’s a good fit , I’m not talking football skill , just the other stuff besides the game.

His game ain’t too shabby either

What is it about this board and the way people just want to make snarky comments and shite. Not you dude, just the board in general.

Am I one of the only ones who would love to post game tape or highlights or anything that shows our new guys playing ball and analyze their play and how they will be at lsu or what position ect.

I mean, we just got like 13 guys from the transfer portal and I haven’t seen jack shite about them, no threads about if they will start or what we see when we watch the tape. I’m even trying to provide the tape to make it as easy as possible to watch.

I’ve never understood that. Don’t let this be the sec rant. That place is a fricking monster troll that goes around eating each other and shitting on the walls lol
