He pitches last night and we still don't score enough and he is likely burned.

We're winning today with him.

his performance today triples down how dumb this thread

1) Evans / Cowans should only pitch in games with lead, or tied

2) had he came in yesterday, they still lose.

3) he freaking shoved today

What we are seeing right now is why you post on a message board and Jay coaches.

We are winning 8-2 right now and you’re bitching about the pitching decision from yesterday. Good lord.

I’ve said this before and got roasted…I think Jay is a good coach and we should be glad we have him…that being said, imho, he manages like he’s in the majors and has 162 games to tinker and figure things out.

Skip took 56 games and the SECT to tinker

I get it but that’s why we play 9. We don’t have a reputation for being the most level headed fan base in America in any sport. But Go Tigers!!

I agree. Evans holds Tenn to 3 runs and we had a shot to take game 2 and start Cowan today with Noot in the BP would have been enough with the way we hit today. Greedy?? Absolutely but I didn’t like the way Jay conceded only down 1 run with their starter out the game

That’s just asking to lose the series. Would not have been smart. Can’t predict the lineup blowing up like that. Have to play it smart IMO. A series win is all we need.

I’ve come to accept that there are some dumb fricks on this board. Mainly, I assume, those who don’t watch much baseball and are primarily football fans. Entertaining for a bit, but also sheds a negative light on LSU baseball fans

It is wild that people just care about winning series and not games. We could have swept. Or we could have competed and loss and still won today. Allllll I heard was how they don’t have pitchers for Sunday. We should not have won Friday but did. We were set up to sweep and Jay punted last night.

So we intentionally gave up a loss for a win? So badass we whipped arse today, but we destroyed the ball today and didn’t need pitching. Last night we needed pitching. Saturday night’s game was right there. Ware, Shores, Schmidt, Cowan could have kept them to 8 runs. We destroyed them. We didn’t need to sacrifice last night for today

Baseball is always hindsight. I am glad I made the thread then we balled out. But when I made the thread all Hell was burning. This team for WEEKS has been horrific with the bullpen. If we play a regional or super regional, are y’all ok with literally giving away a game for a do or die situation? It wasn’t like we were down 10 last night

Butt, it is baseball 101. The quicker you accept and acknowledge it the less embarrassing this thread will be for you.

You don't pitch your best relief pitchers in games you are losing. They were lucky and got away with it Friday with Cowan. It was a great move to limit him to 12 pitches. But this is has always been seen as a faux pas. This isn't people talking in hindsight.

Lester, I don’t care. You have the worst takes 99% of the time and no one agrees with you and you’re ok with it. If someone can acknowledge we didn’t give up last night then ok. But we all know we did.

Friday I agree with. You’re acting like we have defined roles. We have 2 relief pitchers. Cowan and Evans only job (and they are elite at) is hold the line one way or the other.

It is very clear you don't watch baseball. No one that does would continue on with this. You are flat out wrong.

I disagree with Lester about plenty but he is right here. If we could have tied the game, Jay would have put Evans in. Hell Jay was radioing to the bullpen to get him up if we did.

Jay made the right call.

He didn't give up. He tried to use any and all of our next best arms.
