Etling is playing smart football. He doesnt make many mistakes, but he doesnt take many chances either.
He reminds me of Jarrett Lee in 2011. Solid stats, but no wow plays.
Against Bama he will have less time, be on the run more and take more of a beating. I hope he doesnt get injured.

Pretty sure.
He's also third in the SEC in QB rating, 17th in the nation, averaging over 9 yards per attempt...with one INT on the season.
The "Etling isn't a good QB" is just mental midget bullshite repeated by people who have no idea how the game is played.
He's not a great QB, he's not bad however.

I agree with this...
His ranking at the moment has much more to do with Canada building a scheme which adapts to Etlings strengths and weaknesses...
My biggest gripe with regard to Etling is that he seems inconsistent... For example; Sometimes he goes through his progressions and other times he doesn't...
To be fair, I think his upside is he grasps the offense, he is tough and willing to do what it takes during any given play to get the yards.
