You make it really easy to discount anything you say

Curiel can get to the same balls that Stanfield has NOT gotten to. He is not in the realm of landry, duplantis, Laird, crews, or prolly a few more to name. He is black so he is an elite defender I assume
You're deflecting here. You're trying to bench a premium defensive outfielder who is hitting .333 with 5 doubles in 9 SEC games for who exactly? Josh Pearson to be in the every day lineup who is hitting .200 in SEC play and a definitely worse outfielder?
Good job.
Completely ignoring Stanfield's defensive capability, which again however much you want to discredit the head coach starts him at CF every game, over Curiel, over Brown...he is 5th out of 11 players in our SEC lineups in BA and 1st in doubles....why on earth would you want to take that out of the 9 hole?

I literally said he’s not as great a defender as what people have been saying lol. Don’t know who this “y’all” is coming from.

Lost in this conversation, what in the world happened to Ashton Larson?
We are all puzzled. Guess we could call it a sophomore slump.
My two points:
1) Going forward, do you see any role or need for Larson in '25 or '26? I realize a lot can change for '26, but if Stanfield returns our OF is set. Maybe DH? Unless someone gets hurt, he's just depth at this point. OTOH . . . .
2) If you think he's got a role to play, I think CJJ needs to plug him a midweek game and let him play the whole game. Ashton can play - we saw that last year. Just gotta dislodge him from the slump.

At what point is or has he been a premium defensive outfielder

How was this some amazing play that most outfielders would make. Hes short so he had to jump?
Yes it was a big moment. Its no jared foster play for sure

He has ran down some seriously difficult balls to get to. He starts every single game at CF because our coach believes he is the best defensive outfielder on this team and constantly says as much. I guess you think Jay is just stupid.
Also, nice deflection once again ignoring everything about how our 9 hole hitter is hitting .333 with 5 doubles (leads the team) in SEC play. I'd probably ignore it too since that alone makes your entire argument look incredibly stupid.

Very little opportunity to play a full game, or even consecutive games.
His starts:
PFW 2/16
Omaha 2/21
OMaha 2/22
Nicholls 2/24 (pulled after 2AB)
DBU 2/26
Kind of a shitty draw for him but Johnson prefers Pearson is any situation that Larson would be used.

He's already having a very good season, but I could see him blowing up and taking it to another level.
