All this talk about espn polliticking for Bama got me to wonder. What is their real agenda. From a ratings perspective LSU-Bama is probably the worst option, so why push so hard for it. It can't really be that they love Saban and Bama that much.

Is their real motivation to actually bring down the BCS? A rematch is already being scorned by everyone not at ESPN or in the S E C. Perhaps espn is hoping a rematch creates so much controversy that the tipping point is reached and a 6-8 team playoff comes about. And ESPN/ABC is right there to scoop up tv rights and make even more billions.

Maybe they really aren't bama shills, but are looking to create and monopolize a cfb playoff and bama lasu is the best way to make it happen.

lulz

Nov. 5 disagrees with you, and when Bama plays people watch. OSU's appeal is that the nation will tune in to watch an expected slaughter.

But LSU-Bama will not disappoint in the ratings. At all.

This. You will never hear any of them support the BCS. They stand too much to gain from a playoff.

I think so, but it's odd how they STRONGLY promote (and I'm sure influence) the same outcome that they say would render the BCS worthless. It's quite nonsensical.

Wrong. It'd be the highest rated BCS game in history. In spite of what most non-SECrs say, I'd bet most consider an SEC v Big 12 match up as a pretty mundane affair. SEC will win.

LSU v. Bama would be, at best, decided in the early 4th.

Bama is the NY Yankees of college football. Some people watch them to win...but most watch them in hopes they lose.

You are correct

It's not about ratings or just about ratings. The NC game is the only game on that night.

I really think ESPNmis working on a crimson tide network much like the one Texas has.

I have no knowledge of this, just a hunch.

2.25 Billion Reasons ESPN wants an SEC rematch

Good article on why ESPN is in bed with Bama right now. They invested 2.25 BILLION dollars with the SEC for broadcasting rights.

If that's true, then wouldn't having Ok St playing LSU serve the same purpose? Don't you think there would be the same abundance of reasonable arguments as there are now declaring that Bama is a better team and deserved to be there over Okie State?

The better approach to bring down the current system is to declare that there are 2 teams deserving of a chance rather than picking one of them.

They are voicing an opinion, or opinions. That's what they're paid to do. When you say they have an agenda, you mean they're saying things you don't agree with. Period. They do not have any agenda. That is absurd.

It may also be that they are drumming up exposure for this whole controversy and the BCS announcements. I can only imagine how many more people are checking ESPN on TV or on the Internet to get more info on the situation and potential outcome.
