@espn: What position do you play in baseball? This LSU center fielder would reply, “Every one.” -> LINK

Laird! Haven't seen Catches like his since Leon (who might have added a little drama to his ). Very cool for him to get the recognition!

May I suggest that Laird is good at baseball?

I can't decide if he's Bugs Bunny, or merely Kelly Leak.

What makes a more amazing is this centerfielder took zero time to react I would imagine most centerfielders would've just assumed that the right fielder would've had it.

Thant's awesome. Wish he had made the top ten. He deserves the recognition.

He does seem to be above average.

I'm guessing he saw out the corner his eye that the right fielder was woefully out of place and his body reacted for him, giving him a good jump on the ball. Great play.

he jumped immediately... maybe it's something he does everytime something's hit out to the OF... no matter the position

then McMullen yelled out something like "I lost it" and Laird kicked in an extra gear b/c he had the drop on it

All players should be backing up other players whenever possible. If a ball is hit to right, the CF will head over that way so that in case the RF can't make a play on it, he'll be there to scoop it up off the wall and get the ball back into the infield.

He definitely has an extra gear. His slap bunt and run to first is almost unstoppable
