It's a judgement issue, and it is concerning. Three weeks away from the biggest game of their careers, and they can't restrain themselves?

Yeah, I would say shitty judgement is the heart of the matter. They made their bed, unfortunately the whole team has to lay in it.

Other boards have Miles already at fault. These guys know the rules, live with them or bend them. Sometimes you lose. I still believe the loss of one, two, or three players to this team will not matter. BUT, Miles cannot be to blame - a coach - he can't follow and babysit them 24 hours daily. Sometimes independence and success cannot be handled.
Perhaps some of the blame should go to fans, alumni, the university for the "win, win, win expectations" at all costs. This is somewhat to blame for the intense pressure of athletes, coaches, and universities to be successful.
However, rules must be followed and a perfect season could be lost... part of the game ... AND IT IS A GAME!!!!!

No, this is not a mistake. That is such bullshite.
If I make a calculation error on my income taxes THAT is a mistake.
If I lie about my income on my income taxes, that is NOT a mistake. It is a misbehavior and in that particular case a crime.
Knowingly breaking a rule is not a mistake. It is breaking a rule.

This team will crush Auburn and have an extra week to regroup.

Not at all. These men/kids know the rules, no matter what the rules are. Doesn't matter if you think they are fair or unfair, they knew the rules and willingly broke them with a helluva lot on the line. There are only a few individuals to blame here.

Yep, it's trying to beat the system. Not a bright thing to do during the season, but I assume it means that this team will be on their best behavior from here on out.

Everyone wants to blame someone other than those at fault. Why is that?
As far as "Perhaps some of the blame should go to fans, alumni, the university", this goes a long way with how these players perceive themselves. Most of the above average athletes have been put in a "demigod" situation since they were young, especially since they were in high school. Most probably feel they're above others and above the rules of others. Unfortunately, they find out the hard way that they are indeed not above the rules, as Ryan Perilloux can attest.
Win, win, win is life...especially after school. Jobs and careers are about winning at all costs. Working for a company is about being part of a team. Thus, the team concept is what these players need to learn. Again, and unfortunately, they have not learned these life lessons. Hopefully, this will be a learning lesson for these players and they can all move on to become better people in the long run.

Kids make bad choices. This one can cost millions-by being picked later in the draft.

If this is failed drug test related. I find it disturbing that information has been leaked.
Otherwise my general position is these guys did something, and Miles punished them. It happens. If it happens too much Miles gets canned. Personally I am disappointed, but I have made mistakes myself so I am willing to see how it plays out.

UnluckyTiger hit da nail on the head. Douches from AU will be lucky to score more than 10 on this defense. The two positions we loose starters at we are three DEEEEEP!!! Bring on AU!!

In addition, I could careless if a kid is doing drugs. Just don't get caught and embarrass university. I am not sure why we even drug test for non performance enhancers. It reeks of the ugly hypocritical nature of college football, and the "amateur" athletes it pedals.

These are not "mistakes", but pure stupidity and selfishness. Everything that this team has gone through and worked for is going to mess around and go down the fricking crapper if this team is not careful. They have the chance to do something special and are about to piss it away. :angry
You just described a mistake.
