Wow, this isn't like you.

The performance of this offense must've shaken you to the core.

My prediction is in the thread up top. I think we lose by roughly 10 after a late scored due to our defense being tired because our offense has shown they are incapable of sustaining drives, even against FCS schools.

Fair enough. So you think the game will stay relatively close, with auburn having the edge. So do I.

You don’t always have to jump on peoples asses for not having the same logical sequence as you.

ETA: when gametime comes I’m picking LSU to win.

You've yet to comment on our offensive struggles last week. Why do you keep dodging that?

I don't sugarcoat anything. I am deeply disturbed by our offense in the first 2 games. They have played one good qtr out of 8

LSU had both teams defeated by mid-way thru the 2nd quarter. I can see the argument for pouring it on. But, I can also see the argument for showing Auburn the very least possible of our offense - once the game is clearly out of reach -- and it was out of reach for both Miami and SE well before the first half.

I’m not dodging it, we clearly have a different perspective. I have said we went really conservative in the second half and I didn’t agree with it. I also said our OL played like shite, and missing our best member.

I completely understand why this would lead to concern, I’m just personally not that concerned because we seem to be able to move the ball when we need to.

I like being the underdog. I’m sure it gives those players and coaches motivation to be successful. I’m sure they realize that we don’t have much confidence in them so they’re probably playing with a chip on their shoulder the entire year. The only thing that’s gonna make us be successful this year is motivation, not talent

oh no this has nothing to do with pouring it on. I am talking about running an offense that is successful in just moving the ball. We did nothing against both teams offensively in the 2nd halves. Hell our conservative crap in Miami game is the reason I think Chaison got hurt. My biggest concern is not wearing down either opponent and gassing our defense in the 2nd half of both games.

Most LSU fans who watch LSU closely do not pick LSU to win this game either..

This includes 2 turnovers by UDub. LSU has been one of the best, if not the very best in (tied an NCAA record last year for fewest with 8) turnovers given up under Orgeron. Meanwhile auburn had 4 t/o’s just last week. LSU is one of 6 teams with no t/o’s this season.

Well, when you run an offense that's predicated more on not turning the ball over than scoring points, that is not surprise.

Joe is going to be running for his life if our O-line plays like they have been because Auburn has a stellar D-line.

So I get the argument for hiding your offense and saving it for the first big opponent.

But what about the other opponents? What do you rely on when the secret's out, since the element of surprise is gone?

Just my opinion. But I think LSU's offense will be solid by mid-season. But I also think LSU will need every edge it can get to beat Auburn at Auburn in game 3.

New OC
New QB
New playbook
They deserve a few more weeks to pull it all together. Burrow took his first official practice about 6 weeks ago, right?

Executing your offense to the best of your ability is the best way for them to give themselves an edge to beat Auburn.

This idea that the scheme needs to be held a secret comes from a scarcity mindset. O thinks we only have these tricks up our sleeve to rely upon.

What he's really saying is that if we were to face this team with our offense known to them, he doesn't think we would win, otherwise he'd run the full offense.

So put it together. That's what the game is for, improving execution. You can practice all you want but there is no substitution for game reps. Game reps are part of getting better. You don't hide stuff against your opponents and then roll out the full offense vs a top opponent in a hostile atmosphere.

OK. It appears (from your tagline) that you're a Orgeron hater. No point debating you.

So let's just see what happens on Saturday.

Best news I’ve read all week.

Something similar happened against Miami.

Meh, I'm not optimistic about Orgeron's abilities as a HC. I simply speak on what I see with him.

But that's neither here nor there in regards to this conversation. Can you assail the logic of the argument I'm putting forth?

If you think execution should carry the day, execution should be their focus. You execute by actually running the offense, not by concealing as much as possible. If you think the element of surprise carries more weight in this battle, then obviously you (and O) believe that the team can't win straight up.
