ESPN Pimping Bama On LSU's Campus: Can You Handle It?

First offf, I'm going to get this out of the way before some of the Usual Suspect Rantards blast me: TL DR.
Second, I really and truly believe LSU will win this game. It won't be pretty, but we will win. THREE YEARS IN A ROW beating the mighty Nick Saban. A fact that the media would love for everyone to forget about as soon as it happens.
Now that this is out of the way, I read this morning on twitter GameDay is coming.
You know what that means? A pro-Bama lovefest right here in Baton Rouge, brought to us all by none other than ESPN.
I tell you what I can't wait for is the inevitable meltdown here when ESPN starts repping Bama and shitting all over LSU. I know it is going to happen (hence the reason I haven't watched Gameday or Sportcenter since 2003), you know it is going to happen, and the rest of the nation knows it is going to happen. The question is, can you handle it?
I've contemplated offering up some tips, just like I have in the past, but I notice my wonderful advice often isn't taken and many of you willingly choose have a breakdown anyway.
I cannnot wait to read the multiple threads started around Thursday of "did you see so and so said this" or "did you hear so and so lied about LSU when they said this" or "does so and so do ANY research at all before they bash LSU"?
I can understand why University Relations likes ESPN here in terms of the exposure, but as a graduate of the school, I don't appreciate, AT ALL, what those asshats do/say about my university when they get here. So, I do the logical thing: Ignore Them. I hope some of you do as well. For those of you who won't and choose to be miserable, I can't wait for the entertainment. I'll be lurking at work waiting on the threads from the rant crowing about the disrespect we know ESPN will give us.

Dude currently Bama deserves all the love they are getting! They are skull bashing everyone they play! If LSU had beat teams like that then they would be giving LSU tons of love.
LSU needs to embrace the underdog role and use it to their advantage!

If the Tigers take care of business on the field, that kind of stuff will take care of itself.

I'm not denying any of this.

I think LSU has done a good job of this in the past as well. Like I said, I'm not afraid of Bama. We've beaten them two years in a row, once at their place in what was supposed to be the biggest game in years.

I don't think the crowds for the gameday show will be as big as they are expecting. The games not until 7. If people get there 10-12 hours before the game for that crap then God bless them. It will be one game they will never remember.
Personally, I could care less that this show is being broadcast from campus. The show is pretty terrible.

What kind of stuff? ESPN will all of the sudden start respecting LSU?
I'm not trying to be an arse to you, but pushing for a "rematch" is not a sign of respect at all. That will be ESPN's move when LSU wins the game.

Anybody with a brain or set of eyes that has watched these two teams play would do the same.
Im not counting us out, but we gotta ton of ground to make up since our last game if we have a chance at winning this one.

How do you know it's an espn bama loved fest if you haven't watched in so long?

@ Tiger,
I'm not sure who or WHEN you listened to ESPN but MOST reporters speak highly of LSU and are no more critical of them than any other high profile college football program.
In today’s world there are those who thrive to be an arse but most reporters & analyst have been fare in my opinion.
Look at it this way, LSU has been relevant enough these last 7 or 8 years to be talked about. How would you like to be Vandy, Ole Miss or Kentucky? We have been very fortunate as fans that our program has the respect of the national media to be talked about.
Don’t sweat the small stuff bro, there will be people out there that like nothing but to degrade schools. Believe this they are in the minority.

I always enjoy your thoughts EZE.
I agree with the first response, that Bama deserves the love they are getting this year.
However, I don't think the OP was necessarily complaining of that aspect. He was simply inquiring whether the irrationality of our fan base can overcome the potential picks against our team for arguably the biggest home game for us in our program's history.
There will be an substantial amount of bitching, several shitty threads complaining of the media's picks against LSU, etc. I say, BRING IT ON. It's all the fire and motivation we need. And to the media's defense, we haven't exactly deserved their pick over a team like Bama with our play this year.
That will change.

You haven't watched Gameday or SC since 2003 and you know what they are going to say?
You are asking if others can handle it and it's obvious you cannot.
Grow a pair. Bama is good and deserves the accolades. LSU can earn the same accolades Sat. night.

Thank you, and as usual, you get where I'm coming from.
As for the others asking "if you don't watch it, how do you know"?
I read the threads here and watch the YouTube clips that come with them. I literally laugh out loud when I read them.
I still think my favorite was the thread started here last year during the SECCG when ESPN ran the segment (with Saban sitting with them) "If LSU were to lose to Georgia today in the SECCG, do they still earn the right to rematch Bama in the BCSCG". One of the Ranters started the thread. I literally didn't believe ESPN would stoop that low, until someone linked the segment on YouTube.
I can't thank the Rant enough for doing this. It just reminds me over and over that I make good decisions in my life. Not watching GameDay is definitely one of them.

You got it! I also don't watch the news at night either, but I follow politics. I guarantee you I can nail about 90% of what they are going to say as well without having to watch it.

You are asking if others can handle it and it's obvious you cannot.
So, if I choose not to watch programming that I consider garbage, that means I can't handle it?
Well, I obviously can't "handle" soap operas, Jersey Shore, anything on MTV, CMT or BET either. Guess that makes me weak.

Where did I say they didn't? Of course they deserve accolades. They've been on a roll since we beat them last year in their backyard.

LSU can earn the same accolades Sat. night.
I'm quite sure ESPN and co will give them the respect they are due if they beat Bama, just like they did last year when we won "The Game of the Century".

ive head the guest picker is going to be pro bama

When Corso tosses that elephant head on at the end, notice how flaccid the trunk is. Thus, Bama's play will also be impotent. My prognostication.

LSU should be focused bc of all the nay sayers. Get pissed off and fired up. I'd rather be in that role than everybody sucking my shite off. Over confidence is the enemy.

This must be why their ratings have been so low.
