We should have ran that team out of the stadium. It should never have come down to Guice going the wrong way on 4th down..

It’s looking like Ensminger.
What a pathetic joke.
What exactly would be wrong with that?
I feel like you're smart enough to where this doesn't need to be spelled out for you. Ensminger hasn't been an OC since (I think) 1998 and it wasn't pretty. He's said very recently he has no desire to be an OC again. Is that what you want in a candidate?

Ensminger looks terrible on paper but honestly wouldn’t be the end of the world irl

How many teams on the 2018 schedule are better than 2016 Florida?
You ok with 5-6 losses?

ESPN: Ensminger "strong" candidate for OC
So what's the feeling amongst the O lovers that always said they liked him becoming the HC, as long as he had an elite OC?

Y'all are gonna be the same ones applauding him once he names someone else other than Ensminger as OC. Man clearly stated last year he doesn't want the job. O says he's a candidate. So are others. Stop fricking bitching over something that HASN'T HAPPENED YET

Did you see the other drives? What was our total offense?
I don't care how many yards we put up. If those yards don't turn into points, they're useless. Especially when we lose the game to a much inferior team.

Ensminger will take less money to fit the budget. So this is right up Alleva's political snake in grass alley. Wouldnt surprise me at all if Ensminger is the guy picked. And he may work out, but this is not the leadership or the direction that the program needs at this point.
Missing on Canada sucks, but these are the kind of mistakes that new coach's make, so its difficult for me to totally slam O on this one. Its a tough gig.
Alleva is the one that approved the hire and ponied up the huge contract, he shouldve been the one doing the vetting, so ultimately its on him. He stopped Miles from hiring Arranda the first time and this is where the BS began in LSU football. 3 DC's in 3 years, at such a storied program is ridiculous. Thank the LSu gods that Aranda turned out to be an absolute star. Good luck on that going forward.
LSU is too good of a program and had too many fabulous years of great leadership and teams that shouldve kept them out of this crap so soon. This is a tough spot, go pay another OC 1.5 million and he better be the guy, or promote Ensminger. SMH, wow.
The buck stops at the top. Alleva's not competent and his vision is about an inch. He is way over his head at LSU. Theres no Krzyzewski here.
He continues and will continue to put the program in tenuous situations. He's an absolute clown, an all time tool.

I truly hope you're right.
First of all, though, Orgeron warrants some measure of criticism for not properly vetting Canada. Anyone who thinks otherwise is not being objective.
Secondly, the practice, multiple times, of paying buyouts to coaches no longer working for the school, especially given supposedly austere financial conditions, is mismanagement. Pure and simple. Alleva does not go unscathed, either.
I have said give the man a chance. So far, he's done "OK;" not spectacularly, but, OK. Firing your OC -- who was hired at great fanfare and high salary -- after one year -- not good.
If he brings in a legit OC, I'm fine with it and most reasonable LSU fans will be as well. If he goes back on his word ("I will hire the best coordinators"), then, I assume the majority of LSU will not be fine with it. Nothing personal against Ensminger who is a good guy and good coach, but hardly "one of the best" OC's in the country.

This is exactly what it is. Emmert and Saban worked hard to free the football program from outside influences, but it appears we are headed back to the Joe Dean days with a vengeance. What happened to Coach Zero's promise to surround himself with the best possible coordinators? Is Enmsinger the best we can do? Will there be another half-arse coaching "search" where we end up promoting from within? I have nothing against Steve E., but if he gets the OC job, I won't donate another dollar to TAF until Orgeron is fired.

Of course ESPN would say that...they are always looking to be the first to break the news...smh

I know we played this same game with O and it didnt matter, but im going to use the same argument....
How many big time programs would hire Ensminger as OC?
Fact is, he MAY be fine. But 90% of the argument to hire O was that he would have the best and brightest coordinators in the game, and let them coach.
Does Ensminger fit that bill?

Lol what happened to O hiring the best coordinators and letting them do their job?

The fact that it's even a thought is disturbing. O said he would hire the best in the country and he should be held to his word.
I mean you can’t really police thoughts. Let’s just see who gets hired.

Sadly a large number of fans will be behind ensminger because he’s “one of us”. It’s the same folks that helped get O hired.

The story told to everyone rightly concerned that LSU was hiring O as HC, was that LSU was being innovative - they were intentionally hiring a caretaker, inspirational HC at a reduced rate but hiring the best coordinators in the business to compete with elite teams.
How can they possibly say that with Ensminger as OC? LSU is demonstrating that it is not committed to such a strategy and is simply saying whatever they think will play well to placate people.
LSU is taking the cheap way out and the program will suffer for it. The program will not be elite with O as HC and his buddies as coordinators. That was Dinardo's downfall. We'll really see the impact when Aranda leaves.
