I would love it if this is true. Especially if we beat Bama. Imagine the last game of an undefeated year as the number one team in the country beating another top 10 team at NIGHT in death valley.

I think its smart marketing. You know that the world will be watching the game on CBS regardless of what you do, so why not create intriguing content that drives traffic to YOUR brand/sites/youtube and capitalize off the situation. Now all of us SEC fans are going to ESPN to check out their content and their brand is winning in the long run.

This. People are gonna be gobbling up all the pregame analysis, and ESPN is the network that can give it to them, even if they're not actually carrying the game.
