Ok did you want me to say the skinny fellow with glasses? Or would Bill Gates come in and get offended? How about the nerd? Or would that offend the pre-meds at LSU?

I honestly said retard not meaning the actual definition. More like the skinny kid that plays third string WR in Middle School.

I think you could have used different terminology...Even if I weren't an App fan, I wouldn't have appreciated that comment...

If we lose : Forget the season. We could go onto win every single game after that but it doesnt matter because we lost to Appy State.

If we win : Congrats we just beat a 2A team...next year lets schedule a girl scout troop.

I think that LSU will win this game fairly easily, even if it is close in the first half. The heat will be a huge advantage because because of LSU's depth will be able to keep fresher legs and hydrated players in. App. State obviously has some talented players, but depth will be the deciding factor because of the disparity in talent levels in the 2nd and 3rd strings. Look for LSU to pound away on the ground to wear out Appalachian's 1st string defense. Similarly, look for LSU's o-line to pound away at Appalachian's 1st string D-line. Rotating running backs and wide receivers will wear out Appalachian's D backs and unless LSU turns the ball over on a short field for 5 or 6 times, I don't think Appalachian has the depth to withstand the onslaught in the heat and humidity.

As far as the "no win," LSU will get valuable experience for our inexperienced QBs and corners and a win. Yes we are supposed to win, but the Michigan game last year gives us more credibilty than this game had in 2005 when most of the national audience didn't have a clue as to who Appalachian State was. Now some people actually expect an upset. If it doesn't happen, we get a little, but not much, credit. But the important thing is the experience for our QBs.

the d-line is actually pretty deep so im not so worried about the 1st string getting exhausted

I've read some of your posts and you don't know your arse from a hole in the ground.

I agree that heat is going to be huge in the depth roster. I'm sure that Les is planning on running the ball down our throats to wear out the D-line and keep our secondary honest to open up the long balls. However we have more skill in the middle to help push the LSU o-line and provide for better blitzing. If APP can hold the line of scrimmage better than we are expected to then we have a chance to keep this close. If LSU is able to run at will then it will be a long hot day!

?

as far as defense goes where do we have depth besides the line.

starting linebackers are great but after that all we have are some very raw freshman.

Les is known for putting alot faith in his players, especially his qb's. i dont believe for a minute anyone on the LSU staff is worried about us stopping the run with lafell and byrd out there.

you sir know jack shite

I'm going with Appaholic on this one...

He is saying that if they stop the ball better than expected it will be good...He didn't say they were going to stop the ball...

Our D-line wasn't THAT great last year, yes they made good stops, but I don't believe that they were very consistent...and I don't expect this year to be a lot better, but I haven't seen this year's D-line yet...

d-line will be much deeper than 07's. fact.

stopping the run will not be the deciding factor of this game for the defense.

It doesn't matter. We don't play the game.

The fact is APP fans don't believe they have lost a game until we actually do. The players also play to win so RELAX we will ALL see in 40 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And while you get to break in your new QB against App. St., he should have plenty opportunity to work out the kinks against Troy St., and N. Texas St. before entering the conference schedule against MSU.

Lighten up Francis...this is just a message board and no offense to the mentally challenged, but retarded is still okay to use around here and is very funny (unless you are actually talking to or about someone who is handicapped).
