I think that LSU will win this game fairly easily, even if it is close in the first half. The heat will be a huge advantage because because of LSU's depth will be able to keep fresher legs and hydrated players in. App. State obviously has some talented players, but depth will be the deciding factor because of the disparity in talent levels in the 2nd and 3rd strings. Look for LSU to pound away on the ground to wear out Appalachian's 1st string defense. Similarly, look for LSU's o-line to pound away at Appalachian's 1st string D-line. Rotating running backs and wide receivers will wear out Appalachian's D backs and unless LSU turns the ball over on a short field for 5 or 6 times, I don't think Appalachian has the depth to withstand the onslaught in the heat and humidity.

As far as the "no win," LSU will get valuable experience for our inexperienced QBs and corners and a win. Yes we are supposed to win, but the Michigan game last year gives us more credibilty than this game had in 2005 when most of the national audience didn't have a clue as to who Appalachian State was. Now some people actually expect an upset. If it doesn't happen, we get a little, but not much, credit. But the important thing is the experience for our QBs.

ESPN LSU and App State
ESPN does suck...

They made us move our November 1st, Saturday afternoon game to Friday night. That's Halloween. And it's going to be on ESPN, so it will take FOREVER....
